September 2012 talked with a YP sales person who stated I would get a top 10 YP internet listing in the five county region where my business is located.  This included all the local towns and county listings.  In addition, YP guanteed my business listing on the Garmin, Ltd., mapping service.  The representative explained to me YP had relationship with Garmin so my business would show up on their mapping service which would list:  directions, service provided, and contact information.

In October the only change in YP service was my business was bolded on the yp.com internet site and there was no Garmin, LTD., mapping service.  In November, there continued to be no additional services provided by yp.com.  In fact, instead of any top 10 listings in the 5 county area, I was listed either 25th, 24th, but never better than 23rd, which was the same prior to September. 

Those businesses that did have a top 10 listing in 5 county area, 6 out of 10 did not have a facility in the area or for that matter did not even have a presence in the state.



On November 9, 2013, I called YP customer service and told them I would no longer work with them for failing to provide the service agreed to.  I was first informed that my business was "bolded" now and that I owed $600.  I spoke then with a supervisor and told them the same thing that YP failed to live up to the terms of the agreement.  He said he would check with the sales representative.  A month went by and no response from YP, so I called again several times in December.  This time a YP representative said my listing was now bolded and I said that was not the agreement.  Finally, the sales representative called and I refreshed her memory as to our agreement.   At no time did she ever dispute that she said YP would do the services for me, i.e. 1)  top 10 listing in the 5 county area and 2) business listing with Garmin, LTD., mapping service.

YP can offer no legitimate benefit to small businesses.  To get listings in your areas, I would suggest the free services of Duda Mobile and contacting Garmin, Ltd., on your own.  I have successfully done what YP promised they would do, but never did at $600.  YP is a Rip Off!

One more thing, YP represented itself as AT&T, whch it is not.  AT&T sold 51% to a holding company YP....for obvious reasons as I was informed after inquring about their false statements.
