I am a Child Care Food program Monitor Contracted with the State Department of education.

I arrived at Zen Zel store located at Pine and Cincinnati parking lot at 845am. I parked my car so that I can make a phone call and wait for a few minute before proceeding to my 9:00am orientation meeting for a new child care provider. While talking on the phone I noticed a guy looking at me through the store window.
He then walked out of the store and come over to my vehicle, I asked could I help him, and very rudely, he told me he wanted me to leave his parking lot. I was totally confused as this was the first time I had every visited the store, let alone purchase anything from this particular merchant!
I asked why and tried to explain why I was waiting, and that I was going to purchase coffee when I finished my phone call, he mumbled something to someone on the his cell phone and walked off yelling that he was going to call the police!
I subsequently went into the store in the direction of getting his and/or his managers name, once in the store I was greeted with harassing yells, which included: Im calling the police and whats your name, all the while trying to get his name. Not only do I not deserve this type of treatment, but no customer one does, I would understand if I was loitering or blasting loud music or hanging out with a group of unruly people, but I was simply a young business professional having a conversation within my vehicle; Furthermore by pulling over to talk on the phone was for safety reasons and clarification of the address location of my appointment. I did not know there was a time limit for sitting in ones car before going into the store to make a purchase.
Embarrassed, humiliated and fueled with utterly frustration, I wanted to wait for the police to arrive and file and a harassment complaint toward this person, but my job duties waited. I am writing this in hopes it will fall in the right hands and someone will have to be responsible for treating a customer in this fashion, in anticipation that my words will spread a long ways and being the best and or worst type of advertisement to make or destroy business.
I am a respectable woman and refuse to take such treatment for no apparent reasoning! I will see to it that I inform everyone I know about this ordeal, a business should not be conducted as such.

Very disappointed would be potential customer

You were not harassed. You were trespassing because you refused to go when you were told to leave.

You don't seem to get it..

The next time you go out to eat and someone rushes you to finish your meal, because they want other customers money or your spot,  dont get mad, remember they have every right, even if you are a paying person!

- Guess what they do have EVERY right to do that especially if they feel that you are loitering.  But there is a difference to where they probably won't do it right away.  If you are finishing your meal you would have either already paid for your meal or they know you will be paying for what you have already ordered.  When you are in your car on the phone before you even go into the store they have NO idea if you are going to buy something or not.

So let us not forget that you were NOT a paying person.  You were a person who was using their parking lot as a phone booth.

" This person had everyright to park if there was an intention on going in to purchasing from this store, "

Why you have begun to refer to yourself in the third person is beyond me.

For a "professional", you seem to be a bit slow on the uptake.   You have no right to use there parking lot.  None.   They can ask you to leave at any time, for any reason.  By the way, you might want to check the "towing" section of this website to find out how the "I was intending to purchase something " excuse works.    With your convoluted idea of "rights" and your entitled attitude, I have a feeling we'll see you again on this site.

Whine all you want, but this store, like many others, is tired of having its parking places taken up by people who treat their parking lot like a Starbucks.   If it weren't a problem, they wouldn't have taken the trouble to ask you to leave.

Bottom line, you were not ripped off, you are just angry because you were not permitted to loiter in their parking lot.   Get over it.

Who the heck cares??? Why did you add that to the report? Are we supposed to be impressed?

Despite the fact that you probably exaggerated the way they treated you, even if you didn't, they had every right to do what they did. There is no "rip off" here. You should have just left when the business asked you to, gone home, and forgot about it. God forbid you have a real crisis in your life.......sheesh.

This person had everyright to park if there was an intention on going in to purchasing from this store, society has gone to s**t when people are being put time limits for simple thing as such. The next time you go out to eat and someone rushes you to finish your meal, because they want other customers money or your spot,  dont get mad, remember they have every right, even if you are a paying person! It doesnt make since unless it happens to you....

You seem to be under the impression that you have a right to use their parking lot.   Put very simply, you don't.

I arrived at Zen Zel store located at Pine and Cincinnati parking lot at 845am. I parked my car so that I can make a phone call and wait for a few minute before proceeding to my 9:00am orientation meeting for a new child care provider. "

It's the private parking lot of a private business.  If they don't want you parking there to make phone calls, they have the right to ask you to leave.

"  he told me he wanted me to leave his parking lot. "

Exactly.   It's not your parking lot is it?  What do you find confusing about this?

I subsequently went into the store..."

Who do you think you are?   You were asked to leave and responded by entering the store?  Ever heard of trespassing?

"  I would understand if I was loitering..."

You WERE loitering, that's why you were asked to leave.  Then you were trespassing.

someone will have to be responsible for treating a customer in this fashion, "

Customer????  Surely you must be kidding.  You were taking up a parking space that was supposed to be used by people who were actual customers.   They didn't like it and rightly asked you to leave.    Too bad you didn't wait for the police.  They would have explained this to you in very clear terms and you could have saved yourself the embarrasment of posting this absurd report.
