I bought a zenith plasma tv model Z50PX2D back in9]23/06.Did not purches the extended warranty ,my bad but it still would have done no good.Watchen tv one day a couple monthes after 1 year the tv goes POP!!!!! enough to scare you I was waiten for the glass to go flyen.

Any way this happened out of the blue with no warning.Screen goes black and continus to stay that way.Ok my luck right,Have to get it fixed.So take it off the wall and get it repaired at my cost.Didn't complain things sometimes happen.Bad circuit board. $800 hundred later I'm watchen tv .

About 8 months later same thing POP!!!!!!.You gotta be kidden me .Made the calls tough luck they say .At this piont no choice but to fix it.Know the tv cost $2500 on sale.Another $800 later tvs back.Well know i'v had it 3rd time .SUCKER! Yep off the wall sitten on the floor in the corner.KNow I'v painted the wall and hung a picture I'm taped out ,bad economy ,Roofens slow in the winter so that brings me to this site and to anyone who wants to here .

I'v try contacting several times ,you would think at least the guy on the phone would have some compashion seeing his pay i'm sure isn't the best .If any one can help I have two daughters who think dad the worst , there 2 & 3 they don't understand.I tryed contacting state rep havent heard back yet so if any ones out there please HELP!

You assume we didn't do any research? How do you know? Were you there?
If the salesman were trying to make a buck, HE WOULD HAVE SOLD US THE PLASMA TV, not the regular one. All the plasma units we looked at cost more than what we wound up with.

We can't invest in plasma here as we live on the beach, AND OUR RESEARCH showed that high condensation is not good for those kinds of tv's. We have a lot of issues here because of the extra mositure here, so why spend $$$ on something that's going to go out.

And lastly, I said it was something the salesguy told us, that I wasn't sure if it was true or not. Never stated it was a fact.

And for crying out loud, its a freaking TV. Its not the end of the world if people chose to buy something other than plasma.

What are you talking about ??? You evidently know absolutely nothing about plasmas ( nor LCDs, for that matter ). There are no issues with plasma. Now, LCDs have PLENTY of issues - poor off center viewing angles, poor black levels, motion blur, judders ). I HIGHLY suggest you go to some of the HDTV forums on the web and educate yourself before you go out to purchase another TV. That lying salesman certainly saw YOU coming.......but, then, that's probably been happening to you for your entire life, hasn't it ?

It's obvious that you didn't do ANY research before you went shopping ! Nor, have you EVER done any ! Everything that "salesman" told you was a complete LIE ! Research the web and find out for yourself. Plasmas are heads and shoulders over any LCD, DLP or CRT in EVERY aspect. Plasmas have NO motioin blur, better blacks, no lag time, more vibrant colors and produce the industry standard 1080p HD picture. Geeeezzzz. Why do you spread such lies about something which you know ABSOLUTELY nothing about ???? NEVER believe what a salesperson tells you. Chances are, they don't know the truth, either, and only out to make a buck.

Don't buy plasma....

We went shopping for our first large screen tv, and were looking at plasma tvs until an employee told us that plasma only goes to 1020 , and the regular high defs went to 1080. Also said plasma tv's had more issues. Not sure if its true or not, but we'll see if our regualr high def tv is still working in a year or two...

I have an old projection with the same problem!! You'd think they would have fixed this issue in newer models? Purchased it for $2,500 worked for 2 years..went pop. Fixed it after several months of saving...went pop again (with smoke) Zenith's reply...because my set was manufactured 1 month after those that were being recalled for starting fires...to bad. Like you no compassion, accountability or empathy, I must have talked to the same guy. Unprofessional at best but my only recourse because they didn't reply to any letters or emails. Oh by the way, he was the highest level of escalation available in there "first class customer service organization"

However, unlike you I had invested so much already and couldn't afford to start over I actually paid to have it fixed again!! Yes I know..save the "you're stupid" comments. $2,500 to purchase almost $1,200 of repairs (countless months with no television in between saving and waiting for resolve) and back to square one....19" while saving for the next "luxury' this time a Sony!

Anyway, Zenith is clearly a low tier company that charges entirely to much for lesser quality products of which they have no accountability. Your TV was manufactured long after mine..still has the same problem, with several complaints...but accoring to them, I'm sure you're the only one. I'm afraid the only way to get action from Zenith is if their product starts on fire??? Very sad.....

There are over 100 angry customers who were ripped off when we bought the 50"ZENITH (LG) Z50PX2D Plasma TV. We all experienced the same loud POP and creeen blackout. My TV lasted only 3yrs and paid $3K. TVs shouold have lasted longer than this. It is obvious, when all the units had EXACTLY the same failure, that they are DEFECTIVE. ZENITH-LG has refused to acknowledge any responsibility. They should have recalled these units long time ago. when I called them they told me they had NO prior complaints from customers. LIARS! Join me in a class action suit against them!

I have had the same experience along with hundreds of others who bought the 50" z50PX2D from Zenith. You would expect that if the product is sold in a US store, it should have been through some sort of quality control. My unit POPPED and BURNED exactly as hundres of other customers'. Zenith KNEW about this problem since 2005 and STILL sold this product in AMERICAN stores. I have started the process for a class action suit against LG-Zenith for ripping us off. We paid $3K for a product that lasted only 3yrs. It is ridiculous. Zenith should have recalled their TV long time ago. LikeMOST of the consumers out there we didnt "research" the company's reputation, but ZENITh has been a popular brand for many years- till now and we trusted their product and got ripped off. No American consumer out there deserves to be taken like this. These products should be kept off our markets and our laws should protect us consumers from these companies.

Anyone out there in the same boa please contact me here- I am compiling all these complaints against ZENITH-LG. Will look for someone who can represent us.

Well, your big mistake here was buying a Zenith. Zenith is at best, a 3rd tier television - much like RCA, ILO, Funai, Polaroid, etc. These sets are manufactured by companies located in Southeast Asia ( Zenith does not actually manufacture TVs or anything for that matter - it's only a NAME pasted onto cheaply made electronics in a Southeast Asian factory ). Next time, BEFORE you buy, check the HDTV websites for recommendations. Stick with the 1st tier manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, etc.
