Zerorez of Omaha, NE is a fraud.  I am a retired school teacher on  fixed income.  I heard the Zerorez advertisements on two of my favorite daytime radio stations, so I thought I could trust them toi come out and clean my carpet.  They say they have a 3 room for $129 special.  These people send very high-pressure SALESMEN into the homes of unsuspecting customers.  I felt like I had one of those magazine salespeople in my home.  I was very uneasy about the need to keep saying, "no, thank you" to all of the unneccessary services they kept telling me I had to have.  It is just my husband and myself in our home, and our carpet wasn't too bad- we just wanted it freshened up prior to the holidays for pictures.  They hurried through the supposed service, and it took less than 45 minutes.  Even though I clearly kept telling him "no" to extra services, our BILL WAS MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH as the advertised special. I felt very intimidated, and not wanting any further problems with the pushy man, I went ahead and paid their false bill. The worst part is OUR CARPET IS DIRTIER NOW than before Zerorez came!!

My son is a former Federal Prosecutor, and he investigated this company further.  If you are considering using this company, you should know some things we did not know at all:

1. Zerorez has ONLY BEEN IN BUSINESS IN OMAHA SINCE MARCH!!  These very same owners set up shop here after amassing 14 BBB COMPLAINTS in Minnesota.

2. Zerorez has F RATINGS WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IN SEVERAL OTHER CITIES, including Redwood City, CA, Sonoma, CA, and Houston, TX.

3. There are HUGE numbers of online complaints against Zerorez throughout the internet.

4. One of the Owners listed on the BBB website, James Hoag, was implicated in, and legal action was taken agaist Hoag in a Massive, Minnesota Ponzi scheme that came to be known as "The Petters Fraud" in 2010.  The U.S. Attorney's Office was only able to recover a fraction of the $3.5 billion stolen from innocent investors.  This case is public record and can also be seen detailed on the Minnesota Public Radio News website.

It sounds to me like the Zerorez gang were run out of town on a rail from minnesota, and now they have set their sights on the honest people of Omaha.  We are doing everything possible to get the word out on this scam. Zerorez took advantage of me, and I hate to think of others being scammed as I was.

Zerorez Omaha did great job for us

AUTHOR: Christi - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, February 24, 2015

We hired Zerorez of Omaha to clean our carpets of an off odor, in a home we purchased in June 2014.  The carpets were in pretty good shape already, since the home had been cleaned prior to being listed, so I can't speak of how well stains are removed, etc.  But, the odor was definitely removed and we were treated professionally and courteously, and we were charged LESS than what we were originally quoted.

We were presented with various options we could have selected to have performed, but there was definitely no "hard sell."  Upselling is a good business practice, in my opinion, not a scam or fraud.

The technicians took no more, no less, time than any other company we had ever had clean our carpets in previously owned homes.  It is always a fairly quick process, in my opinion.

Also, I am going to assume that Zerorez is a franchise, so it is understandable that some locations end up with grievances filed against them.  But, it is the franchise owner that is to blame, in MOST cases, and not the parent company.

We were really impressed with the service we received from Zerorez Omaha, and I planned on contacting them today (2/24/15) to have them come out and remove new pet stains.  When I looked up their contact info online, i ran across this report and had to add my own comments.

In addition, our carpets were softer and cleaner feeling, after Zerorez cleaned them.  They also have stayed clean longer than with other companies (except for our pets' "accidents"), and they had a fresh smell, not chemical, after cleaning.  So, there is truth in their advertising, too.  I will continue to use Zerorez Omaha for my carpet cleaning.
