They called offering free web advertising, my husband clearly said he didn't want to sign up for anything. March 3rd, we get an AT&T phone bill with a $49.95 charge for January. I call Zipwideweb and they said my husband authorized it, he clearly did not. I asked them to take the bill off, they refused and said another had gone through for February, which will now show up in my April phone bill. AT&T will not remove the charge, but won't disconnect the phone if I don't pay it. They said I will be subject to my credit being harmed for not paying if Zip comes after me. I now have 3rd party block on my phone. Scam artists extraordinaire.

ZWW-ISP are Scam Artists

AUTHOR: Karri - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 30, 2008

I am responding to Jim's rebuttal, as I had a similar experience.

In July 2007, I was contacted by ZWW-ISP for a 30 Day Trial. At the end of the conversation, I was told it would be $49.95 a month. I said I didn't want the service or the trial and had to argue with them about not partaking in any of their services. They called twice. Each time I said I didn't want the service or trial and to take me off their calling list.

It just now came to my attention that I have been being billed the $49.95 a month thru my phone bill since July 2007.

I phoned to cancel and ask for a refund. I was told I would get a 2 month refund, but that would be it. They were supposed to e-mail me the phone recording. That wasn't done.

I do not want this service and I want my money back in full.

I did not agree to accept the service or offer.
ZWW-ISP are scam artists - Google them; a lot of people have had similar experiences.
They billed through AT&T without an agreement from me.
I did not receive a welcome packet.
When I spoke to the account manager both times, I said I did not want the offer or the service.
No progress report was sent.
No reminder was sent.

By the way, they do have my correct e-mail address.

Straightfoward explanation of ZipWideWeb, no hyperbole or sarcastic titles.

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 17, 2008

I'd like to respond to the posting regarding ZipWideWeb. Ms Henderson states that her husband did not agree to accept service, that her credit rating is in danger from ZWW, and that we are scam artists. All three statements are inaccurate.

ZWW is an internet marketing firm, providing search engine placement and an internet presence for small to mid-sized business in order to drive local consumers to local businesses. We do this through a very specific process.

--Our call centers make outbound calls to businesses whose information has been gathered from existing local business directories. These calls follow very specific scripts; the service is explained in detail, a 30-day free trial is offered, recurring billing after the trial period is explained, and then the verification is made that the person is authorized to make billing decisions for the company. Only after all of these steps are completed is the transaction considered complete.

--The data and audio recording of the verbatim section of the script is then sent to our QA department, where every call is listened to in order to verify that all steps have been followed. Any deviations from the script or an unauthorized person on the call results in that call being failed.

--Once a call is passed, we then send out a welcome packet that further explains the product, along with a schedule of events to show the client the steps we are taking on their behalf in order to begin their listings.

--An account manager calls the client to verify receipt of the welcome package, answer any questions, and make sure the client is comfortable with the service. 4 attempts to contact the client are made. If we cannot get in touch with the client, a post card is sent.

--One week later, a mid-month progress report is sent out to show what has been done so far, and to remind the client of the schedule.

--During the third week of the trial period a reminder is sent to the client announcing sponsored advertising and media purchases are starting.

--After 30 days, the client is then billed. Every communication with the client, whether it be verbal or in writing has our toll free number on it so that the client can call and cancel their service at any time with no further obligation of any sort.

Had Mr. or Ms Henderson called at any time during the initial 30 day trial, all services would have immediately been stopped, and absolutely no billing of any sort would have taken place. During the first 30 days, each client is given our toll free customer service number as much as 11 times. That number would also be on her telephone bill. Had they called immediately after receiving the bill they would have been refunded right away.

Additionally, the Henderson's are in no danger of ZWW damaging their credit rating. We take no action in this regard of any sort.

ZipWideWeb is certainly not "scam artists". We provide a very valuable product to approximately 40,000 clients across the Unites States that understand how important it is that their businesses be promoted on the internet, in order to drive local customers to local businesses.
