Beware of Zone Alarm Extreme Security!!! They charge your credit card multiple times for several years after you make a purchase with them!

I had bought the Zone Alarm Extreme Security in November of 2011 for $29.95.

Then 2 weeks later, ZA charges my credit card again for $59.95 for the same product.  After my call with customer service, ZA refunded me back.

In December 2012 and December 2013 ZA charged my account again for $69.95 both times.

I called Zone Alarm customer support (by the way, it's an absolute challenge to locate any phone contact information on their website) again, but ZA rejected to refund the transaction which took place in Dec 2012, arguing that the transaction was made more than a year ago.

When I made the initial purchase in November 2011 (for $29.95), ZA sent an email confirmation email and the product key. When they completed the three illegal transaction, they never  generated any email confirmation/notification/thank-you-for-purchasing to purposely hide the illegal transaction on the credit card from me.

In total, I had three malicious charges to my credit credit card for over $190 in the last few years. Do not support their business!

Zone alarm renewal after 11 months

AUTHOR: Chuck - (USA)

I bought zonealarm in Jan. There were no automatic newalls until November. I am disputing with Paypal. This is a sham. If they tell you that they automatically renew it is wriitem somewhere that is not easy to see. There hould be a box to check.... (box) I agree that my license will be renewed annaually automatically. This is just a way to scam some extra cash out of people with out them knowing it.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Need to read agreement

I've used ZA for over 10 years. I am not using them anymore for a different reason. I can say for a fact that they make very very clear that they do the same thing every one of the security companies does. Namely automatically sign you up for automatic renewal. They also make very very clear you can cancel that at anytime by simply logging into your account (which is created when you make a purchase) and deleting the credit card info, which I do each year.

All the companies do this. McAffee, Trend Micro, Kaperskey, etc. All tell you before you complete your transaction and in the confermation email. It happens to be Fedral law that they and any company with auto- renewal informs purcahasers.

Sorry, but if you don't read the webpage or the email it's your fault Not the companies. And this also is NOT in fine print. It's in the same size print as the rest of the writting.
