It started off when I bought a 2002 Subaru WRX with 94,000 miles on it. I decided to go ahead and get a warranty just incase to be safe. Well great thing I did because the transmission went out at 98,781 miles. So I took it to the Subaru dealers and they told me they would have it fixed in no time.. That was July 4,2012. The warranty That i bought was from Zurich warranty services, stated I had a 6 month/6000 mile power tran warranty. So almost two months goes by and I'm furious because I have not had my car that I just bought, and finally got the car back August 30,2012.

So tell me why I get my Subaru back and the paperwork says that the dealers installed a 2005 remand WRX tranny, and that they had to modify the front axles with reman front axles just to fit. All supplied by Zurich warranty services out of Kansas. When i own a 2002? I thought that seemed odd but they insured me that the transmission would work fine and definitely last least 100,000 miles, so I didn't think anything of it.

Well I drive the car 3,000 miles and the clutch goes out.. So out of my pocket because the warranty I used already for the tranny, and cost me round 1,200$ cuz the flywheel was also chewed up. I also thought this was odd because the clutch was working perfect before and it was only a tranny issue. But regardless I had to get the clutch fixed. That was at 101,000 miles. So I get my car back again after a week or so of them having my car and they said its totally different, way better, all that good news.

I drive the car for around 3,000 miles, miles show now 104,000, and boom! My transmission explodes again while I'm driving in traffic.. At this point I'm very angry and not satisfied at all with the reman 05 WRX tranny at all, but I felt relieved because the reman tranny had a warranty on it when I got it. So this happens Friday February 1,2013 and I had to wait because everyone was closed.

Basically stranded for the weekend. Monday comes around first thing I did was call the dealer and tell them the reman tranny blew and was a epic fail, that I needed another replacement so I could drive my car, go to work extra. They inform me that Zurick was responsible for the warranty on that reman that they could not help me in any way shape or form. Hmm that seemed odd, so I contacted Zurick and I got pushed around to ten people who all said they couldn't find any information about it. This was a frustrating moment that seemed to take for ever, and meanwhile I'm missing work because of this problem.

I eventually got to talk to a guy who said he was the supervisor, named Marvin Calbet, who said the contract simply wore out November 1,2012 and there was nothing he could do for me. I informed him that was the original contract and I already used that for a reman transmission. And that the new reman transmission that took almost 2 months to install has now epically faild. I also told him that I was not to happy with the 2005 parts because I felt that this was the hole problem. He then says there is simply no warranty on the reman transmission and that I'm am s**t out of luck..??? What? I'm missing work as days go by, obviously the reman tranny was crap, and y won't they replace it?

You are making it sound like you are still trying to get it fixed thru your warranty that paid for it to begin with, when the people that remanufactured it should be paying for it. Also I don't know who should make them pay for it, either the warranty people or Subaru, but Subaru is looking pretty shady, after all Subaru is the one that knows where the part came from.

If nothing else I would look up a phone number or email for Subaru America Corporate office, go straight to the top.

So I followed up with Zurick warranty services again and again, and I seemed to get the same response every time I called. I asked one simple question, Does Zurick offer a standerd warranty for there reman products?? The answer I got from every person i talked to that "worked" there was, I can't answer that question but I will send u to the department that would know the answer.. Ok I don't know everything about my job, but when someone asked a simple question like that it seems it would be self explanatory, or a simple yes or no. Yet I got passed around to people who can't even answer that.?

So eventually again I got to another "supervisor" and asked the same simple question. He askes right off the bat, what's the Vin numb to your car and ill look and see if u have a warranty. So why does everyone there ack so clueless ? Don't they work for the company or are they there to decoy the problem/ prolong the process?

I agree this is there baby, and it needs to be resolved! My car is not going to repair itself and I sure ant going to fork out any more money into there pockets for lemon parts. I don't know of any rebuilt transmission company that does not have a standard rebuilt warranty. I mean really why would I buy a reman part that is the most critical part of the car, other than the engine and not warranty it? Especially if the dealer did the work and I was out a car for 2 half months. Absolutely ludacris on Zurik Warranty Services part. Man up and fix this lemon reman transmission!

I wouldn't buy an extended warranty on a baby carriage, simply because most of the time the things that are covered are the things you don't have the problems with.

Remanufactured anything usually has a warranty by who ever remanufactured it. You can check it on line, remanufactured transmissions with a 2 year warranty regardless of miles. So maybe the folks that put yours in did not get a remanufacture one. Possibilties are endless there, but there should be some kind of warranty.

As far as the clutch, a car with that many miles when you have to do the trans that would be in your best interest to have a new clutch put in, plus it should be cheaper that way because the trans is already out, but then these people don't think like me.

So I would say whoever remanufactured the trans, this is their baby, so it would make you wonder why Subaru wouldn't fix the problem.

Hope to hear the end results and good luck.
