Time Share Rip-Off

We went on one of those free tours of Los Abrigados in Sedona. At the end of the tour we did have an interest in an even year time share but told the sales rep we would not part with more than $100.00 a month since we were building a new house.

They said fine, what they could do was issue us a deed from their "sister" resort in South Bend, Indiana and all we would have to do is "sign over" our ownership of the South Bend time share and be owners at Los Abrigados.

Well, to make a long story short what we signed was the rights to South Bend for one year to use Los Abrigados. We actually own the Indiana time share. Never been there, never care to go.

When confronted of course they claimed they explained it to us but what they did is just use fancy sales tactics on a couple who was unfamiliar with the way time shares work.

Yes, legally we do own the place in Indiana and we should have read every sheet of paper with detail but they know how to eat up half of your day, get you in a good mood and process the paperwork quick so you can get home.

All of the letter writing and phone calls have done nothing to resolve this problem.

Our advice to anyone thinking about time shares is to STAY AWAY.
