On Oct 1, 2009 we went to Westgate to listen to their spill....we bought a timeshare. Big mistake. We signed paperwork 10/1/09 and according to Westgate's contract we had 15 days to cancel our contract because we did not get a complete tour. According to their contract you have to go in person or send a letter post marked no later then the 15 days which I done, my letter was postmarked Oct 13. Oct 22 we received a letter from Westgate stating they are unable to cancel the contract because the time had expired for us to cancel. (Which was not true.) My husband was the primary owner, Westgate took him off as primary and listed him as secondary without our knowledge which is fraud. I have spoken with Stephanie and Latalia at Westgate and neither of them seem to care. Neither of them have offered to do anything to try and fix the situation. I told Latalia (supposed to be a supervisor) that I was contacting my attorney who would in turn send a letter to FL, TN and AL State Attorney's and their Better Business Bureau's. Her response was ok. They have committed fraud, being misleading about how they represent their company but they don't care. I have tried to have my contract cancelled and they have refused to do so. We were told before purchasing that if at anytime we wanted to sell that Westgate would buy back the timeshare. I mentioned this to Latalia and she said they do not buy back timeshare's, that would be a conflict of interest. She told me I could send a letter in requesting for them to buy the timeshare back but they would refuse it. I don't know what else to do other than turn it over to my attorney because we are not getting anywhere on our own. Please post this on your site so that maybe it will help someone else down the line and they won't have to go through what we have. Tell everyone who will listen to stay as far away from Westgate as they can.

WESTGATE PROTEST EVENT SPRING 2010! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF WESTGATE!! Join US

I must say, my husband I were scammed by Westgate Resorts, specifically Lisa our sales person. We went to Westgate Orlando Florida for the weekend to try the timeshare thing, We were not going to buy. We declined their offer several times. We were not interested and had enough bills. When I told her we had enough bills, she said that Westgate Resorts report to the credit bureaus every month as a mortgage property. That sold us. It sold us because with a mortagage property on our credit reports we could refinance a few thing and maybe consolidate with proff that we have mortage property with a low balance, !0,000 grand. This would also increase our fico score! We were impressed with our seemingly financial wit.
We waited 90 days to pull our credit after we purchased the property. I did not see Westgate on our credit report. I contacted Westgate and found out that they do NOt report monthly as paid and that the package that we thought we had was not what we thought we signed up for. THe conversation in the final closing was recorded. So I asked that the tape be reviewed for fraud. I was told that all the tapes are destroyed afte 90 days. Westgate has NO Fraud team or remedy for victims of fraud. All they offered was a letter of hardship asking me for all my bills, stating that I can not afford it. I tried this remedy that was given by their customer service. It went no where. The next time I heard from Westgate was from a 3rd party collection agency. I am now on a mission to get some solid regulation of companies like Westgate. I will NEVER give Westgate another dime!!! I am seeking those who will protest Westgate and other scam timeshare companies. email me at (((ROR redacted))). I will never stop until Westgate has recognize the power of free people in this nation. I have recieve various nightmare stories from others out there. We are oraganizing a peaceful protest this spring in Washington D.C. PLease if u are a victim come out and help us take them down. We would love to go to DC with you. Let us know when you are going and we will be there.

We need an attorney who would be willing to file a class action lawsuit for all of us who has been misinformed and ripped off by Westgate.

We were not going to purchase the time share but then the sales manager assured us that Westgate "at anytime" would buy it back from us. We have since found out that they will not do that. How good can the place be if they refuse to buy it themselves?

Our paperwork was changed without our knowledge, they took my husband off the loan application without telling us.

They have committed fraud in so many different ways with some many different people. We need to stand up to them and let them know they can't get away with it. This site will not publish your personnel information so please post when and where you want the rally to be so that everyone will be able to attend.

Sounds like Westgate business as usual! Nothing surprises me about them anymore. Things we were told to do would BLOW YOUR MIND! I wish there was a whistle blowers reward system set up cause I could give you folks some info you could go crazy with! First off. always remember that no one there can guarantee you any available date for any reason, period. Unless you buy a fixed week, which will actually cost you $2500.00 more. Second, learn the difference between Value (Yellow) time and All (Red) time. Because that determines when you can vacation. Don't let them feed you a bunch of bull that Yellow Value time is great if you know how to use it cause it's NOT! If you have Value/Yellow time, you're not going to vacation in the summer, spring, Holiday or peak times, Period! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. They will tell you different, and they'll keep moving the price down till you think you have an incredible deal, trust me when I say, the price they show can go lower! Also, you have 10 days to cancel if you have seen ANY of the property, they don't have to show you the whole property because when you're in the office signing paper work, one document you sign states that you were shown the property and that you were shown that you have 10 days to cancel, 15 days if you did not see a model of the cabin you were buying. And regardless of what they tell you, YOU CAN CANCEL AND GET A FULL REFUND OF ALL MONIES! Let me say that again!  YOU CAN CANCEL AND GET A FULL REFUND OF ALL MONIES Except, and it states this in your paper work on the back of your contract, any free breakfasts given at the free owners breakfasts the next morning or any extra gifts given. DO NOT LET THEM LIE TO YOU, YOU WILL GET ALL MONIES REFUNDED OTHER THAN WHAT I STATED ABOVE! Just in case you need the number to the corporate office in Florida, see you can call them to cancel as well and they wont give you the run around. The number is 1-800-925-9999. Now if you tell them you want to cancel, what they will do is try to get you on the phone with the person that did your paperwork and that person will do EVERYTHING they can to make you think you can't cancel, don't buy it!  Also, you  have to be carefull of the bait and switch, they might show you one unit and sell you a totally different (smaller) one, some will try anything to get you in a deal ! PAY ATTENTION!!! Now if you need to to contact the big wigs in the company, like David Siegel the owner or his brothers or his son, here's their emails. David_Siegel@wgresorts.com  = owner ,   Richard_Siegel@wgresorts.com  = Son ,     Barry_Siegel@wgresorts.com  = brother. The main thing I can tell you is ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS. And if you have a problem, BUG THE HELL OUTTA THE CORPORATE OFFICE, 1-800-925-9999 CALL OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Make as much noise as you can!!!!! You'd be amazed at what will happen!
