I work as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut in Indianapolis. Just recently, our store got a new RGM after not having one for a month or so. Things seemed to be going well for the first couple of months but then people started noticing that their checks were smaller than normal for the hours that they worked. One of the shift managers took notice of this and advised all the employees to print up their hours and verify them. What she found was appalling.

Over several hours from 4 different employees had been deleted! It was especially strange because when time is deleted or added in the computer it shows the initials of who deleted them.the same very shift manager's along with another shift manager's name were next to them. Funny thing is, they deny having ever even been in that field in the computer and since Brian, the RGM in question knew everyone's password he could've been the only one to do it and attempted to cover it up by blaming someone else!

No one has been compensated yet and most of the people have given up on it thinking that since the RGM and the area coach are buddies, there is nothing they can do. Its also funny how it happens right at a time when he would let all the drivers and part-timers hang out on the clock as late as they wanted! He also hired an ex-stripper because she was "somethin to look at" and gave her 30 hours off the bat, while people like me and a few others who have been there the longest have to fight to get 25.

To top it off, he sent me home the other day because I refused to take a run that was in another Pizza Hut's area and when I called to talk to him as soon as i got home, I was on hold for almost an hour!Everytime i am there i answer the phone quickly, as i am well trained, unlike any of his hires. Its no wonder that store has gone down the tubes.

SUE SUE SUE!

This totally sucks. Did you know that your Area Coach, or your RGM, can look up anyone in the areas password? Therefore, with the management team, they can go in under your name and do whatever they'd like and it'd all lead back to you. I think a class action lawsuit would be in order for discrimination, and working without pay.

Take appropriate Action

If there are several employees that are missing hours, find out who, days, times, and hour. Then no matter if the RGM and AM are buddy buddy, the human resource manager from your area most likely won't be and that is your next step. If any one person is on the schedule (which has to be kept in store for atleast a year) but the time was not on their pay than someone is in big trouble. There is always a way to see if someone worked through the paperwork trail (taking orders, cashing customers out etc.). Also the times that the schedule was adjusted is on a log in the computer. If the shifts were not there, that can be proved as well. Write a letter to the Human Resource Manager or call them and tell them you expect an investigation be done about this manner or you will be going to the EEOC. Trust me, they will take care of it. If there is a change made on anyones time than the employee has to sign the paper when they pick up their check so beware of what you sign and hope that you didnt. When you sign, you agree that your check and hours are correct and that the errors were valid. On another note, you should never be insubordinate toward a member of management even if you disagree. You should have taken the delivery and the manager should have given you an extra run for doing so. Dont ever sacrifice a customers order, no matter what. Ps. If you can get this done and it is proven that there was manipulation of payroll, you wont have to worry about that RGM anymore. Good Luck!
