I'm home from work sick, and decided to order delivery. I called Pizza Hut and attempted to place an order. I gave the girl my name, phone number and address... then heard her say to someone "Why is it not entering?" She then came back on the phone and said, "Sir, do you live at 201, 301 or 501?" I said, that I live at none of the above.

I gave her my address again (in the 300-range), along with the apartment letter and reiterated the name of the apartment complex. I was then told that Pizza Hut doesn't deliver to my address. Seeing as I'm right across the street from these three other acceptible addresses, I figured she must be making a mistake.

I asked to speak to the manager. Kelly got on the phone and reiterated that Pizza Hut doesn't deliver to my address. I stated that I live ACROSS THE STREET from the other complexes. I also offered that my complex tends to be filled with grad-students and townies--folks who are much less likely to stiff their drivers than the folks in the three "student housing" complexes across the street.

Kelly just said that she has no control over where they deliver, that it's determined at the corporate level! Someone who doesn't even live in my town is making random determinations on where pizza cannot be delivered, regardless of their location relative to "acceptible" locations?

Meanwhile, I'm still sitting here fuming and hungry. This is infuriating!

Okay...

AUTHOR: Gabi - Indianapolis (U.S.A.)

Yes, it's true. At the store level, us management at Pizza Hut (I'm a shift manager in Indiana) have NO control where we deliver. It is determined by corporate, they cut up towns. And sometimes, you are RIGHT on the street that cuts our delivery area off from another stores, or a "dead zone". The store is not at fault - nor is corporate really. We can't deliver to a HUGE delivery area, or our drivers will be out for miles! if we say yes to you, then we have to say yes to the guy on the street next to yours, so on and so forth. Also, management can be written up for taking out of area deliveries. It's a conundrum. However, see if the other Huts in your area deliver to you OR stand on the other side of the street and get it ordered outside.

Non Delivery Area

AUTHOR: Pizzagurl - Chesapeake (U.S.A.)

I am a manager at Pizza Hut and it is true that we have no control over who we deliver. The only control we have is if something happens at a location we can recommend it to be non-deliverable or in my area we even have no-go after dark areas. There has to be a good reason why they are not delivering to your complex. It could have been that some college kids pranked the store too many times and they have restricted the complex...or it could be several other reasons such as a robbery. I hate having to tell customers that I cannot deliver to their address even though we can deliver across the street from them but, in the end I know that the rules are set forth for the safety of our drivers which is why it is so strictly enforced. I suggest calling the store manager or district manager to find out the reasoning behind the no delivery area and then maybe they can see about the problem being resolved and possibly compensate you for your trouble. Sorry there is no instant solution for you! Have a great day.

Malingering....

AUTHOR: David - Pocomoke (U.S.A.)

You were sick, but could eat a greasy pizza?

You should have asked for the number to the one that delivers to your house.

It's disturbingly easy...

So...

AUTHOR: Troy - Shelbyville (U.S.A.)

I know it's frustrating, but if they delivered to you, then they would have to deliver to the guy in the next street... and then the next street. They HAVE to cut if off somewhere!!!!
