Forget working at IHOP in Hutchinson Ks. Management has a habit of making a waitress pay for walk offs, even tho there should be a manager around the register during shift, but management likes to be in the customer area flirting with customers or their friedns, expecting a single waitress to watch over 5 or more tables, and the register. M

anagement likes to clock servers out while they are actually working doing set up work. This is violating state and federal law. Management has had problems in the past with unwanted sexual remarks and suggestions to serving staff, but when these problems are brought to owners attention, they are ignored, or reasons found to fire the server.

My daughter is employeed by this company, needing a part time job that is close enough for her to walk to given transportation problems. 5 people including 2 managers were working the register one night, the drawer came up $10 short, and the 2 managers expected my daughter and one other server to pay the shortage.

I stepped in, advised the main manager that evening that this was theft, everyone who had access could split the amount or she would not pay a dime. He threatened to fire her, claiming that he and the other manager were above taking the money. Now this manager happens to be latino, the 3rd server who wasnt expected to split this loss is also latino. the 2 servers who were expected to cover the entire amount, one who was my daughter are caucasian.

After advising the main manager on duty this would not happen, either it was split between everyone working the register or no one would pay this, he threatened my daughter. claims she had signed an agreement to pay for shortages prior to being hired. He claims this is mandatory for hiring. I brought him back to reality by explaining she was a minor, and this was not a binding contract, I also questioned whether this was legal or not, the manager had to get off the phone all of a sudden.

After this, my daughter had her hours cut from 25-30 hours a week to barely 10. After seeing my daughter not allowed to work, I called to speak to the main store manager one evening. The same manager I and my daughter have had problems with named Jose, refused to allow me to speak with the main manager Bassem. Jose also refused to provide me the name of the owner of the franchise, and refused me the main managers last name or the owners name so I could file a report with I.H.O.P. Corporate.

They've cut her hours down to nothing already, she doesn't need the aggravation. She'll find another job soon enough, and she'll have gained some insight into how the real world works, in the "get whitey" society of today.

Just call Sea Group - mike Salous

If you want to know who owns the store it's IKE and Mike Salous. the managers are not Latino. you can call Sea Group llc of OKC to file a complaint with the owners or simply send an email at IHOP.com they will give it to an operations consultant who will follow up on it, but keep in mind this is a franchise and there is only so much corprate can do. The manager in question is the owners Nephew.
