My wife took a recent trip to California where she flew in to San Diego and picked up an RV she had rented via Internet from Jeff Collision at Open Road RV.

Mr. Collision arranged a location for a pickup at a hotel that was ten miles from the San Diego airport that had no airport free shuttle. My wife did an internet search before leaving and found an alternate hotel one block away from the Hotel, with a free shuttle service.  Mr. Collision agreed to meet her there but arrived two hours late. (with no phone call letting her know he'd be late....she had to phone him twice to find out where he was).

Jeff Collision delivered the vehicle and did not do a checklist of the vehicle to confirm if there was anything wrong with the vehicle. Instead he told my wife to take pictures if she was concerned. Soon after starting the trip she discovered the Septic Tank was leaking.

Jeff also did not advise on a location to drop the vehicle off at the end of the trip. He simply told her to drop it off somewhere, put the keys in the Septic hose and give him a call as to where she parked it.  It was at this point that he also told her there would be no one meeting her to pick up the vehicle or to inspect it.

She returned the vehicle to a four hour parking lot near the San Diego airport and called Mr. Collision to let him know where the vehicle was parked. He yelled at my wife  "what the heck did you park it in a four hour parking lot for? You are going to pay for that Lady because I am in SanFransico". He then hung up on her.

After this my wife phoned the police, airport security etc to explain why this vehicle was parked in this lot. Her plane was departing within two hours so she had no time to move it.

As of today it has been more than 21 days since she returned the vehicle to the parking lot and we have not received either our Insurance deposit or our Security Deposit paid on credit card. This is a breach of the contract which states:

"A deposit is required and will be returned to the Lessee within 21 days of the expiration of this agreement less charges or after Lessees insurance company has paid in full any claim or claims resulting from the rental"

"Deposit refunds will be made within 21 working days of return of the rental to Lessors premises unless a longer time period is required to determine extent of damages or losses"

We have emailed and phoned several times since she has returned from California and the response - when they answer - is always the same "Jeff will get back to you".

I would not advise anyone ever deal with Open Road RV and Jeff Collision. They are unprofessional and disrespectful towards their customers and they still owe us over $700 US in deposit fees.
