On 7/9/08 I purchased a magazine subscription from a student who was earning a trip. I made out a Check to USA for $60.00 My check was cashed but I never received the Magazine. I tried calling the number on my receipt but no answer. What a Rip off then they wonder why you won't help the kids when they are selling things.

Notify the IRS

AUTHOR: Mikemotion - Green Bay (U.S.A.)

Notify the IRS of susected tax evasion. If you are not receiving your subscriptions, the money you paid could be pocketed or skimmed. The IRS can freeze their bank accounts, including any related businesses and personal accounts, and all credit cards as they conduct an audit. Not to mention these sales people are also not likely paying income tax or social security. Big no-no!

But the IRS likes to work with complaints. So while you are being scammed, be sure to point out in your complaint to the IRS that you feel as long as you did not receive your magazine, that the company and any sub contractors must be skimming it off the business and likely not reporting it as income. That should get the ball rolling. Be sure to have your receipt handy and the address of the business. I imagine they can handle it from there.

You may not get your money back, but you may snag them on numerous tax evasion charges and eventually shut them down.
