Universal Subscriptions Agency (better known as USA) is trying to scam me. On September 15, 2004,2 high school boys knocked on our door. Their story was that they were selling magazines to win a trip to Mexico. They needed to get a certain number of "points" to win the trip and beat the other team.

They asked to come in,which they had practically already made their way through the door anyway. They sat down at my table and showed me a list of participating magazines. They said that it would be cheaper than off the stand price. So, I looked and decided to get the Parent magazine being I have a toddler.

They said that after they left they'd put a sticker on my door to let the other team know to beat it telling them that they'd already been there.

My boyfriend came home just as they were leaving. After they were gone my boyfriend asked what they wanted and who they were.I told him that'd Id bought a magazine subscription and he asked if Id gotta a reciept.I told him "no".He got suspicious and looked the company up online and found out that they are a huge fraud and a scamming people all over.

I got really worried and called my bank right away. They told me to come right away to cancel the check. So,I went to my bank and did the necessary paperwork and payment had stopped on the check. I never got any magazines or heard from the company. I thought it was done with

In early January of 2005 I got a letter from CGS (check game solution). They said that they were seeking to collect a debt on behalf of USA for 91.00 dollars. 61.00 for the mags, and 30.00 for the cancelled check fee.

I called CGS and they were not there,I left a message and they called me back two hours later. I tried talking to them but it was like talking to a brick wall. They would NOT listen to anything I was saying. I told them that I cancelled due to being suspicious about not getting a reciept for my order and then investigating the company online and found out they were frauds. They said that I didnt cancel check according to their procedure. THey said that proper procedure was on back of reciept!!Again I told them that I never got a reciept.

A couple days later I got a second notice from CGS stating that my failure to remedy the situation leaves them no choice but to turn my check over to the State Attorney. At the bottom of the letter is says that if I wished to to clear things up before they go any further, contact their collections manager.

I called him,nobody there.I left a message.

Today just a week later (January 28,2005) I get a THIRD notice saying the SAME EXACT THING!!

I found many other incidents like this online and it laned me here.I really hope someone can help us all from this scam.Im NOT paying for something I NEVER recieved nor wanted to.
