We disconnected Dish Network in March,2010, mailed their receivers, not the dish itself, back in boxes they provided, using labels they provided. We took our time and gas to deliver the boxes to UPS, as requested. When we questioned what to do with the dish, we were told "throw it away, we don't want it'....we questioned "where'...no answer. WE do not want nor have a need for this dish either, so, consequently we have stored this dish now for 3 mos. and counting. Then we received a bill for $19.45, for "using their labels and boxes"??????? When we questioned this, we were told "it is a legit bill, pay it!" We have tried talking to billing reps, supervisors, etc, finally sent a letter to Charlie Ergen CEO and Head of Dispute Resolutions of Dish Network, requesting help with this and the only reply we got was a letter from a collection agency! We tried calling the Better Business Bureau & were told to attempt talking to higher ups in the company, no help, as there appears to be no tel. numbers to reach them. Today, 6-26-2010, we talked with a Rep.# 4up, 866-443-5162 (direct tel. no. 720-514-8555 ext. 52271) to no avail. He gave us the email address shown to help resolve this and hung up! Our question, has anyone else had this problem, if so, how did you resolve it? We do not feel this is a fair and ligit bill.

This also happened to me but worse! I was aware that I would be charged 15 dollars to ship the box back! When I received the label for ups I was excited that I would not have to shell out any cash GREAT! They sent me a check for $ 95 which I assumed brought my account up to date! Two months later I received a call with a person on the other end demanding my credit card number! I told them they were crazy if they thought I was going to give them my number over the phone!!! Send me a bill! Two weeks later I get a call from a collection agency! I called them again and asked for a bill and a manager and they refused! Once it is on your credit it is on your credit! Don't pay it! I am going to write equifax and show them a copy of the check they sent me! Hope the bank has a copy! All for 15 bucks! Just send me a bill!

Hello, this is Dan Busa with DISH Network. I would like to apologize for sorry for your experience so far. I would also like to explain the reasoning behind the fee, the fee is charged because you're using a label that we purchase. You are not required to use the label or even ship through UPS, it is just a discounted method for shipping. All though this should be disclosed when the account is cancelled, it is also printed on the label that if it's used there will be acharge of $15 assessed to your account.
