My husband signed up for the "digital Home Plan" and was asked to give his checking account number so the company could withdraw 39.99 for the promotional certificate. My husband was turned down, (we received a letter) but skyboxtv and/or dish network people debit my husband's account for $228.99 for service and equipment we did not get. What worse, they did not have authorization to debit this amount from his account. Now Dishnetwork told us that they could not be responsible for the actions of the retailers selling their systems!!!! Skyboxtv does not answer their phone, the only thing I get is a machine telling me to call back later because they are busy. Also one cannot leave a message because their mailbox is full; has been for the last 10 days.

We are now out of $228.99 and it caused our account to be in the negative. The bank charged a service charges as well.
Anyone reading this please be careful do not trust this company. We are in the process of filing a complaint with the attorney general's office, so they can be stopped.

Dishnetwork or Skybox?

Mrs. Nichols my concern here is that you are accusing Dishnetwork of a ripoff they have nothing to do with. You should easily be able to tell who drew the money from your account by calling your bank.

Your statement that Dishnetwork told you they are not responsible for the actions of retailers is not only correct it leads me to believe Skyboxtv took the money.

While I understand your frustration you must understand Dishnetworks position. If you go to a department store and are overcharged for a pair of pants you cannot call levis strauss and ask for a refund.

What you can do is call Dishnetwork and ask that a retailer complaint be filed against Skyboxtv. If Dishnetwork finds they are not doing things the way they should be done Skyboxtv would not be paid comission for promotional sales or installations. That may not sound like much but that would be a severe penalty.
