I purchased a Sirius Starmate 5 radio in Oct 2008, I also paid in full for activation and a service plan. Total = $282.69 by the time Sirius got done adding to it.

Fast forward to the first week of Dec 2008, the radio dies. I go to the place I purchased it and they say they can not do anything get in touch with Sirius. So after going around and round I get them to agree to replace it.

Three weeks go by and they are trying to charge me for a warranty radio I haven't even recieved yet. I made a very nasty phone call and 2 days later get a radio that was shipped overnight express.

I replace the bad radio and ship the dead one back, I pay for shipping as well. This radio doesn't get clear signals as it should, Sirius says I need a specific cable to hook it up with, I should have known better as the first one was crystal clear. I by the cable $59.99 + shipping + $15.00 for them answering the phone and telling me I need a cable.

Get the cable, install it and the radio is tolerable but not clear like it should be. Before I can get anyone from Sirius to listen about the lack of clarity this radio decides to stop working, well it works now and then for a few minutes then just stops.

So what should have been 6 months of listening ended up being less than 3.

I have also asked many many times to have this service cancelled, they called (this is why I am here) just before I logged in here to try and get a new card to charge again as the one I signed up with is now closed (so they can't continue charging it when ever they want).

I called twice with issues and they charged the card for $15.00 each call, I learned to make sure NO charge before talking about radio issues.

I have heard of people having good experiences with Sirius but I have heard of more horror stories with service, billing and crappy equipment.

They got me for just shy of $400, what a waste.
