DirectTV charged unknown pay per view after equipment returned Pulaski Nationwide

I recently got a call from a collection agency that I owed Direct Tv 1, 940.00!When I asked them what the charges wer for, the first agent I spoke to said it was probably because equipment was not returned. ( My daughter had subscribed to Direct TV under my name, (with my consent) she had moved out and returned the equipment in August 2008.) They told me I would need to contact Direct TV.

I called Direct Tv and they acknowledged the equipment had been returned, and asked them what these charges were for. She said this was bundled under Verizon's plan and I would need to contact them. In the meantime, I keep getting calls from the collection agency.

I called Verizon and they sent me back to Direct Tv. I called Direct Tv back and this time I spoke with a different person. They told me it was for several pay per view adult movies that were ordered and it added up to 1,940.00. Bear in mind, after my daughter moved out she never saw a statement from Direct Tv. After further speaking with someone, they said the statement was from Sept 08 and they found on the card where all these movies were purchased after the equipment was returned.

I then told them if someone had purchased these movies I had no knowledge of it. They told me I could have put a block on it. I would have put a block on it, if I would known this was taking place. My daughter's husband denied putting these charges on the pay per view. My problem is not knowing about the charges until after equipment returned. If I or my daughter had known we could have challenged it then and perhaps stopped it. I Also had requested an itemized statement(which I never saw) from them so I can see how valid these charges are. I want to know if I can get the collection agency off my back until I can get this resolved.
