I also signed up for alarm security monitoring with this company. After the first year the equipment stopped working. I called numerous times to get it fixed with no response. I received no calls from the monitoring company because of the malfunctioning equipment. When I tried to cancel after the third year I was told that it was too late and I had been automatically renewed for another year. After calling multiple times, I was told to fax a letter stating to cancel and they would end the contract. I faxed the letter and the next month I was billed again. When I called they claimed that they never received the fax and that I had to provide proof that I sent the fax. So I sent them a copy of my calls from the phone company and they put me hold so they could discuss with their supervisor named Vickie. When the agent came back on line they stated that Vickie declined the request. When I asked to speak to Vickie of course I was told that Vickie had left for the day. What a ripoff company. Several weeks ago another alarm company agent came by my house to offer a free upgrade and to switch to them. The agent was wearing a shirt labeled APM and stated that he was no part of APX/SAI/Castlerock and that everyone in the neighborhood was complaining about the service. My instincts told me this was the same company trying to use different tactics for you to commit to another three year contract.
