Guardsmark deceptive hiring practices Austin Texas

I remember applying to these people when I was trying to quit Statewide Patrol, another sorry private guard contracting service that is located in Austin,Texas.

They were located off of Shoal Creek Blvd -- 8701 Shoal Creek Blvd
# 402 in Austin,Texas.

I came in the door and there was an African American lady who had "I HATE ALL EXPLETIVE- DELETED NON- AFRICAN AMERICANS! She gave me the pep talk about how many accounts they had and she wanted to make sure I would "fit in."

I was going to turn around and leave right then because I have been in this business for about 20 years and I KNEW there was no job coming -- but she referred me to her boss, a harried looking white guy. I don't remember his name or hers either, which is what a wonderful impression they had on me.

He asked me about my experience and then HE GAVE ME THE SAME RUN-AROUND SPIEL he gave you, then he referred me to the door.

I don't know who they hire. I have never known anyone in Austin, Texas who EVER got a job with them.

I do know that they used to have a small cheap office that was locked about 3/4s of the time when I worked for Stanley Smith and used to have to check the doors on that second-rate office building. It was located on Ben White Blvd. It was owned by some sort of labor union, as I recall. It was one of those real ugly and cheaply constructed buildings! It leaked. It was lousy in there. The paneling was buckling and it had mildew.. a real class place. There was static electricity in the carpet and you had to watch out when you checked the doors.

I was glad I met those disassemblers because I figured if they would lie to me and tell me about accounts I KNEW they didn't have and would NEVER get, I could hardly wait to give out of there.

ALMOST ALL PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD COMPANIES LIE TO YOU!
THEY DO BAIT AND SWITCH WHERE THEY PROMISE YOU A SUPERVISOR OR A PATROL JOB THAT PAYS SOME REALLY HIGH MONEY -- BUT THEY NEVER SEEM TO HAVE THEM WHEN YOU COME IN. SO THEY LOWBALL YOU INTO SOME TRASHY POST WITH DAMN NEAR MINIMUM WAGE AND THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT WHETHER YOU LIVE OR DIE OR HOW YOU GET TREATED.

EVEN K-9 DOGS OWNED BY SECURITY COMPANIES HAVE MORE CONCERN EXPRESSED ABOUT THEM THAN SECURITY GUARDS DO.

AND WE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THESE PEOPLE THE MONEY THAT KEEPS THEM IN BUSINESS.

I once compared security guards to the hookers who stand on the corner and the companies to the pimps who rent out the hookers and get all of the money -- and MAYBE you get a few crumbs when it was ALL YOUR WORK that made it possible. And the clients are unappreciative "johns" who just want to rent somebody for a short period of time.

I was conned into working private security in Austin,Texas.

I realized that I wasn't even able to afford the requalification fees to renew my commission card,afford ammunition so I could practice with it or even afford the range fees.

I figured if they are going to make me carry a gun, I might have to use it someday.

AND WHY AM I PUTTING MY LIFE AT RISK FOR NO BENEFITS AND SUCH LOW WAGES?

So I am doing something else now and living for the day when the federal government take over ALL "Private Security pimps" and regulate it so we are treated more like human beings with rights who need a living wage.

GUARDSMARK IS A JOKE!

And from what I have seen, they don't know what they are doing.

Which is why they have almost NO business...I don't know how they stay in business.
