First of all, thank you for what you do! Here is my story:

I have been out of work for a couple months and right now money is tight and I am existing on my dwindling savings and I'm a little desperate to find a good sales job. I am on the employment websites every day, looking for a position. Last week, I responded to an ad on Craigslist.com w/ my resume and contact information, for a Direct Sales position. I received a call from a man named David Acres 425-343-4512. We spoke about the job (copied my notes below) and it sounded really great. He asked me to meet him for an interview at 6:30p in the Bellevue Hilton lobby and if all goes well, I could attend the monthly sales meeting afterwards. Tuesday afternoon, I got a message from David which said: “Cheri, I am calling to confirm your interview today at 6:30pm in the lobby of the Bellevue Hilton. Please call my cell phone when you arrive. See you later today.”

When I arrived, there were already 5 others in the “interview.” We were given very little information and then hustled into a meeting room in the hotel, not to attend a sales meeting BUT, for a seminar style sales pitch. They were trying to get us to buy the classes NOT sell them. Myself and another “candidate” got up and walked out about 30 minutes into the sales pitch.

The are preying on people who are trying to find a job and make an honest living! A hidden camera investigation, would really expose these people.

Notes from my inital phone call w/ David:
•This was 100% commissions sales job (no base salary)
•Uncapped # of commissions that I could make
•the pay was 50% commission of any sale you make
•In the Real-Estate Investment sector
•Selling a 2-year tuition package for 16k to an accredited school in Phoenix, AZ
•The main offices are in Phoenix. AZ (they are actually in Scottsdale, AZ)
•I was told this was not seminars (it is) but, that it was a real university degree
•The average amount of sales was 2 sales a month, which would take me about 25 hours a week, and would make me 16,000.00 a month But, I was told if I was willing to work hard I could make 300-500k per year because they do have sales people who are making that much.
•I asked how the prospects where found and was told that they are mostly Real-Estate agents and Mortgage Brokers who want to continue their education and they are found mostly through the internet, telephone and in person.

The name of the company is the Nouveau Riche Real Estate Investment College. http://www.nouveauriche.com/. In the sales pitch there is a heavy emphasis on the attendee's reaching the American dream of wealth, security and happiness if they take the courses and have this knowledge, in any market.

It is flat out wrong to dupe people into thinking they are going for a job interview, and then try to sell them on 16K worth of classes!!!
