While gathering info for our 2008 taxes, I came across 12 months of recurring charges from
The Learning Annex for
$39.95. It seems that my husband missed them on the credit card statements as anything unusual because we had taken the occasional San Diego class from them over the years. On further investigation we found they had charged us over 23 months for a total of
$918.85! Not exactly chump change. The charges, they said were for Online classes which we never did, never received any confirmation of, nor agreed to pay for. Not a single email!
I know, how did we miss this? Too busy, too trusting. My credit card company was able to get back the 5 months of charges for 2009 which was $199.75 because Learning Annex could not give provide documentation supporting the charges. But they could not do anything about the remaining $719.10 because we caught it too late.
They did stop the charges when we called initially, but wouldn't even consider the back charges. After repeated attempts to contact anyone who could help us, we were told to call Bill Zanker. He never returned our calls. That's when we turned to our credit card company. This sounds like a Class Action waiting to happen. In the mean time, maybe Mr. Zanker will return calls to our attorney. Bill Zanker, please do the right thing and return our money!
Thank you Ripoff Report for the opportunity to expose The Learning Annex for it's bad business practices.
