I shop at Night Secrets pretty often. On a routine trip, I decided to buy a leftover Halloween Costume. It was pricey, but it was worth it. I took the package up to the counter with my other items and ended up spending well over $100 that day. Later that evening at my house I took out my new purchase to try it on. I put it on and went to button when I realized that the leather had tears in it and most of the material around the buttons were tore too. I took it off and was so upset that I just bought a damaged costume! I put the dress back into the package. The costume also came with extra accessories, but I didn't even touch them. I took that costume back to the store the next day.

The same saleswoman that sold it to me said she would have to call the owner to have this approved even though my receipt clearly says that they will exchange or give you store credit for items. I listened as the saleswoman told the owner the problem with the dress. Then she moved away from me and I could no longer hear what they were saying. She came back and said that clearly the dress had been worn and they would not take it back. I told her I was very upset because all I did was put the dress on! Customers are allowed to try on stuff in the store so it probably had been worn a lot! I was shocked that they would not give me a replacement! The saleswoman said I could come back the next day and meet with the owner's husband. I also called another Night Secrets store and discovered that these costumes were supposed to 1/2 off! I paid $52.50 for an old Halloween costume that is damaged!

I went back the next day and the owner's husband was nothing but rude. He said he already knew the whole story and they would not take it back! He would not even look at the costume. I explained to him that I needed a replacement and store credit because he also overcharged me on the price. He still said no and continued to be rude and blame the damaged costume on me. This is no way to keep or run a business! I will not be shopping here ever! The customers do not matter to these people. They only want your money!

I have been working at Night Secrets for 4 years. Night Secrets has been in business since 1995 and we have never had a bad review like this. We try really hard to make all of our customers happy and hope they will return to shop will us. But in our defence we have to follow our store policy. Our store policy says we do not refund cash, but we will do store credit or exchange only. But the store credit or exchange on the returned item has to be in the condition it was when it left the store. We put security sensors on all of our lingerie/costumes. When a customer is ready to check out we take all the security sensors off and check the garments.

I would like to say sorry for the customers bad experience, and hope she will give us another try. We are a good company and strive to make our customers happy.

When you buy things from adult type stores, if you have a problem with the merchandise try contacting the manufacturer. You stated that it had rips around the buttons and such- it may have been a bad batch of material.

Anytime I have had a problem with adult-type merchandise, which has only been twice, I have contacted the manufacturer directly and they are usually happy to replace the item.
