I've been ripped off by the company Dolphin International Shipping (11399 Lakeview Drive, Coral Springs, Florida 33071, Phone: 866/718-7434, Fax: 954/720-0519, International # 954/720-0519).

I signed an agreement with Dolphin International Shipping to ship my belongings from Germany to Washington, DC. They have taken my money ($2069.45), initiated the shipping, but then failed to pay a German subcontractor and stopped communicating with me. The shipment was due to arrive around August 20, so it is more than two months overdue. My boxes are currently stored by the subcontractor in Hamburg. At this point there is no indication that Dophin will ever pay the German subcontractor.

Course of events
• May 11: I accept the offer from Dolphin for the shipment ($2069.45).

• June 10: $300 drafted from my account as prepayment (electronic cheque)

• July 5: Pickup of the boxes in Germany scheduled (actually occurs with a week delay)

• August 9: remaining $1769.45 drafted from my account (electronic cheque)

• August: delivery expected, but doesn't occur

• September: I inquire repeatedly about the state of the shipment. Responses do not occur or are devoid of any specific information.

• September 24: After five email and several phone inquires over several weeks, Dolphin promises delivery around Oct 10 (6 weeks delayed).

• September 30: German subcontractor informs me that my boxes are stored in Hamburg and cannot be sent because Dolphin failed to pay them. I immediately contact Dolphin to demand explanation and also inqure about the insurance carrier for the shipment. Response about the insurance carrier is promised to occur later but has not occurred to this day.

• October 4: Dolphin has failed to respond, so I email again demanding explanation within 24 hours and resolution of the problem within 5 days and threaten legal action in case of noncompliance.

• October 5: Dolphin claims the amount was paid and asks for another day to determine why payment was not received. No response has occurred since then.

• October 10-16: promised delayed delivery doesn't occur

• October 28: German subcontractor reconfirms that payment still has not been received from Dolphin.

• Today (November 4): Since October 5 (see above), Dolphin has not responded any more.
