I contacted FreightCenter about a shipment of a valuable, delicate dining room table. It required "white glove" service. I was assured by the "broker" that for my >$600 that the table would have the legs removed, wrapped and placed on a pallet ON SITE.

The day the table was to be picked up, the lady from whom I purchased the table (Ms. Hamilton)called me to let me know that two men with little more than a pickup truck were simply carrying the table out of the house and putting it on the truck. No wrap, blanket. nothing. Miss Hamilton then put me on the phone with one of the men and they explained that they were not equipped to package the table, as I was told they would. They then put me in contact with their "boss" who said they would return with the proper packaging equipment.

Approximately one month later I received the table with numerous scratches on the surface from the bubblewrap applied directly to the surface of the table. It was NEVER placed on a pallet as advertised. Yesterday, I receive a bill for $220 for the "wait time" of the two employees and the second pickup attempt. I called FreightCenter and after much effort got in contact with a Ms. Jennifer Taylor. Quite rudely she informed that there was nothing to be done but for me to pay the bill. She states her company is "not responsible for the services rendered by the carriers". Granted, FreightCenter is NOT responsible for the scratches on the table, but THEY are responsible to deliver the service they describe to the consumer.

I was "sold" white glove service and told my table would be crated and palleted on site. This did not happen. They knowingly misrepresent, per Ms. Taylor, what services are offered.

they are a scam

I used to work for freightcenter I know for a fact...that they double bill and bill with out direct consent from their clients, in their BOL, they trick the consumer that is unaware of charges, and train employees to give the runaround to the client, as long as we get their card on file. the VP of sales' brother has been indicted on mafia charges. One employee said she busted a manager (Jeff Abbott) doing cocaine in his office, and if she valued her job she would keep her mouth shut!!!! Do not trust Freightcenter!!!! there are more reputable companies out there!!!

I also worked for FreightCenter and the claims made by this ex employee are completely false and totally fabricated. The facts are that he was let go after it was discovered he had lied on his application. The company demands high ethical standards. When it was discovered that he did had misrepresented himself, he was released.  For myself and on behalf of the eighty or so fellow employees, I am proud to work for a company that demands such standards.

Hello, I am the current VP of Sales for FreightCenter and hopefully I can shed light on your situation. When there is a re-bill from our carriers, the original rate you approved was based on a cost per pound. We utilize that amount in case of a re-bill. You will notice that this amount is greatly different than if you went into your Freight Center account and ran your original shipment with the added weight/different freight class. The reason for this is that you accepted our terms stating that we can and will charge you any amount we like even though it most likely will not reflect anything remotely accurate with what we were billed by our carriers and adding a profit. 

My suggestion is to not bother trying to fight this since you accepted these terms when you booked your shipment with us and you will not get any refund directly from us. 

FreightCenter.com did not intentionally set out to rip you off but if there is an adjustment from the carrier, we will charge you whatever we want and you are screwed
