I totally get that you are upset with your hours, but the company is telling the truth when they say the hours are coming from corporate. I am an employee of wal-mart myself, and we are having the same problem. Everyone is going to scorecard, which means the company generates X amount of hours per day that they deem necessary for each department based on how many people come through the store, and how much is coming from each department. On a fixed schedule, you limit yourself to work a full time week. Let's say you are only able to work 7-4, and the score card drops 12- 5:30.... You won't get the hours because your availability stops at 4.
Personally I can't stand the scorecard. I preferred my set hours, but this is their new system, and everyone will be eventually switching over to it. Every department in the company. All I can say, is I hope Corporate will realize their system doesn't work, and will lose employees looking for jobs where they can work full time hours in the time frame they can actually work.
When I was hired for wal-mart I specified the hours I could work, and it worked out well for a while, and now that scorecard has dropped, the *family friendlly* walmart, is no longer *family friendly*
