Ashley Furniture poor customer service, never return calls, damaged furniture Redding California

My husband purchased a dining room, 4 chairs, and a china and buffet for my Christmas gift. This was Nov. 29, 2009. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery. We were fine with that. I spent a few hundred dollars to ship my grandmother's china from PA to CA so I could put it in my new cabinet. After the 8 weeks, we called Ashley Furniture to see when it would be in. We were told that this product was a big seller and that they were not sure how long it would take. I called almost every week to find out when it would be delivered. On March 6, 2009, the table and chairs were delivered damaged, so another one was ordered. The china and buffet was delievered on March 31, 2009. That too was damaged with 2 gauges in the wood. A tech came out to try to fix it, but could not, so that too was ordered. He sanded the wood down to the bare wood. We are still waiting for that to be delivered. We have contacted Mike Armstrong and Peter Shaw who are in charge of the Redding and Chico, CA store. They have not returned my calls. So I filed a complaint with the Consumer Affairs office of CA. She was able to to talk to Mike Armstrong and was told that the merchandise just goes out to people who order. We paid with a credit card and paid that off in Dec. Now we called Citibank and it is over 6 months so it is harder to get our money back we have to type up and mail our complaint to the billing office. I even went to the store and warned some customers about the poor customer service, damaged merchandise. We will make sure that we let everyone know TO NEVER PURCHASE from Ashley Furniture. What a rotten Christmas gift and nightmare this has been. We will make sure we check this website before we ever purchase again. Ashley Furniture needs to be put out of business.
