Value America Rips Off On Line Customers

On Feb. 15, 2000 I ordered a BBQ from Value America.Com. I paid $499 for it, on my bank debit card. It said on the order it was in stock and would arrive in 10 to 14 days. It was to be shipped to an address in Arizona. I looked up my order on February 24 and it didn't show it had been shipped. I called their 800 number and was told, "I will send an e-mail and we should hear back in 7 to 10 days." I told her it had to be here by March 3rd as I was leaving to go back to Oregon. I called again on the 25th and the 28th, getting the same answer, that they will have to e-mail someone and it would take 7 to 10 days for an answer. I also sent them 4- e-mails listed on their site which I never received an answer. I called them March 1 and was told the same information. I asked them why they couldn't call someone and I was told they did all their business on e-mail. On March 2nd, I cancled the order because I was leaving. I was then told it would take 45 days to refund my money. This outfit will have my money for over 60 days and I have nothing to show for it. I finally found a phone number in VA that I had to pay for to call. I was unable to contact any live person except for an operator, all voice mail. I left messages for a Blenda Dorcheck a supposed CEO, a Jan Lessor and two other people, with no calls or e-mail returned, to date. I think that this is a "Boiler Room" operation and they just take your money and never send anything. Id bet they don't stock a damn thing but people to answer phones. They give shopping on line a bad name and should be put out of business. They even have the guts to advertise the BBB symbol on their web site. I complained to the BBB but I guess Ill have to stand in line.
