On July 1, 2009, Captial Gymnastics accepted a contract to provide a year of competitive gymnastics coaching for my daughter. At that time I paid them $125 annual membership fee and a quaterly tuition of $670 for the months of July, August, and September.
On August 10th I was informed that their facility close to my home and where my daughter praticed was closing on August 12th. This facility is less than 5 miles from my house. I was given the option to have my daughter transfer to their main facility in Burke, VA which is 44 miles from my home. I was unable to do that.
I was then told that no refund would be given to me for the annual membership fee and unused portion of the quarterly tuition. I have sinced learned that parents whose children were in their recreational gymnastics program recieved a refund for the annual membership fee. In addition, team parents that paid tuition monthly did not get charged for August or September. These are obviously inconsistant practices and punishes parents that in good faith paid tuition quarterly.
Although the contract states no refunds, one assume this would be for a situtaion where I discontiued services and not where they discontinued services. This business owner is obviously unethical and should not be in business of providing training for young gymnast.
