Olin Ross 5.1 Surround Sourd - Silver Van Scam.  Approached at the job site near the new Super Walmart in Tullytown, PA.  There were 2 white men, early 30's driving a newer Silver van as we were climbing off the scaffolds.  Silver Van, brand new - believed to have PA plates.  Lies, lies, lies!  Told the system was worth $2400.00 and got me to pay 200.00 cash.  We even shared our beer and gave him a Heineken.    Olin Ross model number is OR860.  They said they were out of Newtown, PA.

Very common scam...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - North hollywood (USA)

This as been going on for years and it is done all over the country. My ex roommate got suckered also. He actually got a working system but it was junk..worth under 100 bucks even though on the box the MSRP was listed around $2000.00. Not too hard for anyone to have a package printed with any MSRP they wish to put on it.

That's why you should never buy anything off the back of a truck from "some guys"...what if it doesn't work?  Or goes bad in 2 days..where do you bring it for warranty service? Exactly..you'd be screwed.

Now you didn't post how you were ripped off..all you state is you paid $200.00.

So was the unit worth at least $200.00..or was it a box of sand or rocks..which is sometimes the case in these types of scams?

And they probably told you the same BS lines they tell everyone..like their boss ordered too many..or these were leftover after a job and they can't send them back..always a similar story with these parking lot rip off artists.
