Bob Taylor is perhaps the worst teacher at Hemlock High School. He is very well known for wasting class time telling raunchy stories and using profanity. Taxpayers should be outraged at this inefficient use of their money. His students are the ones who are really being deprived by this unscrupulous teacher. He even threatened a student with cyanide and then denied it. Parents should be strongly advised to keep their kids out of his class and speak with the school board.

Immature Student

AUTHOR: Tom - Anytown (U.S.A.)

All of my children have been in a class with the teacher in question and I have heard no complains from my children, nor have I personally had any incidents with him. I have sit in on one of his classes and found that he runs the class in an organized and positive manner.

I suspect that this was posted by one of his students that has some sort of a personal issue with him. Anyone who had brought their complaints to the school boards would have had to sense to use the address of the school board, or at the very least the high school; instead this person chooses to use the address of the middle school. The same applies for the telephone and fax numbers, or lack of numbers. I would suspect that if you were truly outraged and wished for parents to contact the school board you would actually provide information to contact the school board, but that's my opinion.

In closing, do us all a favor and grow up. Post complaints when they aren't completely ridiculous.

Hemlock Graduate

AUTHOR: Sara - Midland (U.S.A.)

I had Mr. Taylor when I was in high school and I have no complaints. While I was in school I think I remember hearing about this cyanide incident and if I remember correctly nothing was done about it because there was no proof of anything. I have to wonder why someone is bringing this up now, kind of petty isn't it?

Are you kidding me?

AUTHOR: Eric D. - Saginaw (U.S.A.)

Seriously? What is this? One person who couldn't take a joke? The material I learned in the two classes I had Mr. Taylor for more than prepared me for college level coursework that encompassed general chemistry, organic chemistry, and some components of physics. Sure, he made some jokes that most people may have considered to be a little too much, but that's what was great about his class: he treated us like adults. Whomever this "anonymous" is probably didn't do their homework and got a bad grade so they are looking for someone to blame. Remember, what you get from a class is what you put into it.

If You're Missing Your Cat, Check Under My Tires

AUTHOR: Anonymous - Freeland (U.S.A.)

First of all, if you're filing as Anonymous, it doesn't help your case if your user name says Jeff. If you learned anything from Bob at all, that would've been the first thing -- COVER YOUR TRACKS.

The truth is, if Mr. Taylor made threats against a student, he would've been dealt with. Tenure wouldn't get him out of a serious threat.

If your child had a rotten scholastic experience, please consider maybe s/he had a learning disability because as a past student of Mr. Taylor, and having learning troubles myself I still learned basic Chem and Physics, regardless of "raunchy stories." As "Eric" said, he treated us as adults. We learned what we wanted to, but he put it out there for us to take or leave.

It seems that by posting such a ridiculous post you are also unscrupulous. If you have problems with a teacher, go to the board, the school, the teacher himself, and talk it out like humans. Don't whine on the internet where nobody cares to take you or your claim seriously. As you can see from your rebuttals, you have demeaned yourself.

College Prep Class

AUTHOR: Ali - Hemlock (U.S.A.)

I had Mr. Taylor for 3 classes in high school and loved every minute of them. I had two teachers in high school that actually prepared me for college, and guess who Mr. Taylor and Mr. Agresta. He obviously knows how to teach at a higher level and maybe your child just wasn't ready for that. I was the #1 student in a class of 506 in my freshman year chemistry class, he obviously didn't waste the tax payers dollars in this situation. I'm sorry your child couldn't quite understand the concepts.
