Daily calls on weekdays since 11-22-06. Never a name mentioned, either who is calling or who the call is for. The last call, on 12-26-06, asked for a call back today about "an important business matter"; "as a follow up to the letter sent you"; or to "push 9 to speak to a representative now". At no time did we receive a letter from this company either at home or the post office box. Our credit is good, as we have paid everyone in the last 7 years. I am hesitant to even call these people after reading all the information about them! We are ignoring the calls but may file a complaint if they keep calling.

KG,
First, posting in the proper category [collection agency] would be much better as others searching by category would then get all of the complaints available on debt collectors.
Under the FDCPA you can send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request. Simply tell them they are not to contact you any more. Give them the phone# they have been calling. DO NOT sign the letter, just print.
Send this letter by certified mail, return reciept requested. be sure to put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records. This is very important as it proves what you sent.
Now when they violate, you sue them for up to $1000 in statutory damages plus legal costs and actual damages.
Don't get mad, get paid.

It is now June 2007. I sent a cease & desist letter to Allied Interstate's mailing address found on the internet ( as they never sent anything in writing) months ago. I have not received any more calls from them.

Allied Interstate are a bunch of BOTTOM FEEDERS …
These jokers have been attempting to collect a debt which was discharged in a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in 2006.
For the last month, I started receiving these recorded message calls from them.
Well last night I picked up the phone because it came up “private”.
So, they first of all start trying to get me to verify my social security number and home address without telling me what they were calling for. I wasn't about to give that information and DEMANDED what the reason for the call was.
Finally I am told that I am being called in regards to a debt which I know for a fact was on my 2006 Bankruptcy which has long since been discharged.
The rep puts me on hold and then the “VICE PRESIDENT” of Allied Interstate gets on the phone… I almost wanted to laugh so, he proceeds to start berating me on the phone.
Again I wanted to laugh.
I told him that this debt was on my bankruptcy and UNCOLLECTABLE. Of course this sends him into further insults. Let's see, I am a dead beat, I didn't pay my bills in 2006 and I am not paying them now, I am a loser… You get the picture…
So of course I threaten to contact the Feds on him… He laughs at me…
He says to me..
“Well then if it was on your bankruptcy, why did I just get this in my office last month”.
I replied:
“Because you are a bottom feeder collection agency who purchases debts and tries to collect on them illegally”.
His reply… SILENCE!
He then hung up on me!!!
These folks need to be put out of business for these ILLEGAL collection practices because now a debt I had discharged in 2006 will show up on my credit report which will now tarnish my healing credit rating.
I wish there was a way all of us who are being targeted illegally can do a class action law suit.
If anyone out there is interested in checking in to this, I am completely on board!

OK--what we did was send a certified, return receipt requested letter to Allied Interstate. In the letter, only the phone number was mentioned, no names or the address. The calls stopped & there were no follow up calls or letters.
