Our Price was $399.95 from Both "Companies"

Our experience was that "World Wide Source" and "IT Data Direct" would always call about the same time (within the same week) and our "amount owed" was ALWAYS $399.95! So you have been given a bargain (ha ha!)

They use different U.S. addresses though.

It is amazing how many names I have found for these scam companies. Rest assured, they are as phoney as a three dollar bill! Report them to the Attorney General's office and let them know that you are aware of the Vermont AG's settlement with World Wide Source. That should cool their "collection" activity.

One of the Staff at Barry University gave me this list of 'companies' who do this scam. She writes:

" I believe that some of these companies are related and have sprung from the same “mothership" - You’ll see when you look
at their names."

I worked for this company. They operate in Montreal Canada. The key contact is LINDA WILLIAMS; they use their real names telling employees they are legit. They target small businesses. The product is a Hardcover book, a CD-Rom or a web listing or all. It was established in 2001. They call you to update your information then get you a second time on tape agreeing to a price. The word HUNDRED is never used so you get caught. THEY ARE A SCAM. They are also diversifying into other scams.

NOTE: THE COMPANY HAS CHANGED THEIR NAME (THIS PREVENTS HITS ON THE INTERNET) JEFFREY SHOLZBERG IS IN ALL SORTS OF SCAMS.

THROW THE HARDBACK BOOK & CD-ROM IN THE TRASH (THE HARDBACK IS EXPENSIVE SO THEY WILL ISSUE A CALL TAG IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY) THEY CAN DO NOTHING, SAY I'M CALLING THE ATTORNY GENERAL AND HANG UP.

How you get Caught:

SALES CALLS:

You get called with a telemarketer saying "I'm calling to update your listing in the Business to Business White Pages.

They go over your details, you reply YES, YES YES.

QUALITY CONTROL:

You get called again to confirm the details for shipping it out. The price is mentioned but in digits. Never is the word hundred is used. This is done very quickly so it sounds like a few dollars. They ask you if you are authorized to make the purchase. This is Taped. Tapes can be altered!

The Directory or CD-Rom Arrives. Later a invoice arrives.

What do you do?

Call or Write your Attorney General immediatly without telling them and throw the Directory or CD-Rom in the Garbage.

Your in the Clear and have helped others in your State.
