    Corporate Advocacy Program
In 2005, our company contracted with a media company to advertise in the local Chamber of Commerce Welcome folder. The following year, we were contacted by Bench Craft Company to advertise again. We were told that the Chamber had run out of folders and authorized them to solicit new ads from its members. A credit card was given for the new ad. The ad proof that was received, was of poor quality and even had the wrong business name on the ad.

When contacted, the Chamber indicated that they still had plenty of folders and had not authorized Bench Craft to contact its members. We contacted Bench Craft and cancelled the false order and contacted the credit card company who reversed the charges. As of this date, no folder has been printed, but Bench Craft sent our account to collection, which has negatively impacted our credit report.
