Urban Nutrition - arctic Essentials confidential information and credit card numbers sold New York New York

In November I ordered a product from a company called Arctic Essentials. The product actually came from Urban Nutrition. I used my Visa card to pay for the product. In Feburary I received a call from a marketing company asking if I was interested in receiving an offer from them through the mail. If I liked it I could sign up to receive their product. At no point in the conversation did they ask for my credit card number neither did I ever give it to them. This was the red flag I was waiting for. Several days later I started seeing small sums of money charged to my card that I had never authorized. When I had the charges investigated by my bank they provided me with an 800 number to call regarding the charges. When I confronted the customer service opperator about where she had gotten my visa number she admitted she had received it from another source but refused to tell me who. I figured it out because I had used a particular phone number to order from Arctic Essentials and the telemarketer had called me on the same number. I had found it strange that a telemarketer was calling my work cell number, a number that I had never used but once to place an order using my visa card, and that was to Arctic Essentials. They had to have sold my confidential information to the telemarketers.It was a hard lesson learned but I learned mine. I also canceled that card.
