Cambridge Who's Who Executive Professionals "free" networking, Internet

I was approached via email about cambridge's Who's Who free networking registry for professionals and executives. I had heard about Cambridge's registry before and thought, it's free, why not? Filled out the information and heard about a month later requesting an interview for the publication. After the interview and the lady suddenly sounded sales-pitchy and I thought, uh-oh, this isn't 'free' after all.

She urged me to take their $700 platnimum membership or their $500 gold membership. I advised her I needed to discuss this with my husband and she nearly became mocking before she decided to offer me the $300 membership. I told her any money they wish for me to send will have to be discussed first, so she tried to offer me a $200 membership and when I told her this obviously isn't what it was represented at, she claimed she had publishing deadlines and that's why she needed a commitment to the membership with credit card right now. I declined any membership as it was represented as free. She hung up with me shortly after and forwarded me my 'free' online registry.

I will not log onto it for fear they will consider this acceptance of their high-pressure sales tactics and attempt to charge me for it. The horrible thing about it all is they get all of your work information before they tell you what it's really about. BEWARE! Do not give them any information, financial or otherwise.
