Working at Telesolutions for the summer was not my idea of an ideal working envioronment; it seemed like a sleezy operation that swindled the innocent unsuspecting average american credit card holder into buying products they didn't really want or need.
Well, being in university, a summer job is a necessity. Working at coffee shops and restaurants was all in the plan; being rendered to crutches for 2 months was not. Summer job options became very limited.

I worked there for a ground-breaking one day.

After a 20 minute speech about how easy it is to book off work providing you give a full 2 weeks notice, no questions asked, just fill out the required forms, I asked where I could find one of those forms as I knew that in 3 ½ weeks, I would be in Europe visiting family. Keeping in mind that the initial interviewer was aware of this detail and clearly didn't notify anybody else, the 10 minute lecture and question asking and accusing was totally uncalled for and completely rude. I called the guy on it and said "hey! I'm giving you 3 ½ weeks notice here. That's all you need from me. no questions asked."
Now I'm not asking the guy to throw rose petals at my feet or expect sparkles to emit from his moth every time he says my name, I realize that this is a work environment and that it's a hassel for them to fill those shifts, but to my understanding, the interviewer was well aware of the time frame of absence and said that it wasn't a probelm, I was hired on under the assumption that they knew.
