Werner somehow got my maintenance guys cell phone number then told him that I had told them to talk to him and that he should order bulbs from them.  They charged us $500.00 for a box of bulbs that would have cost $35.00 any where else.  Then when we called to tell them we didn't want those, they sent us another box of different bulbs.  When we went to send those back, they said we'd have to "OK" the second invoice before they could send the return slip for the first invoice.  The bottom line, I got two free boxes of light bulbs :) And they got a complaint to the Maryland AG.

Going on for years

These types of scams have been going on for years with several companies.

Used to own a business and someone would call and say "I've got your backorder of toner ready to ship" or light bulbs etc. all I need is a new PO. Well if they talked to someone who was not certain and I was not around they would give them the PO. I had to tell all my employees not to fall for this.
