I signed up for Herbalife back in 2003. Touchfon was apprarently the company that set up an 800 number for me to use for my "business". After signing up, I began researching the company (Herbalife) and realized what a scam it was. I backed out but apparently I didn't cancel the TouchFon account until I realized a short time later they were still billing me. When I went to buy a house in 2004, TouchFon came up on my credit report as owing $37. I called the company and told them I never used their service and asked that they cancel out the fees. I remember making several calls and finally getting someone to cancel out the fees and send me a fax stating the debt was taken care of. When we closed on the house, I was required to provide the payoff letter. My big mistake was handing over the original letter and not keeping a copy! Now, almost 5 years later, I am finding TouchFon on my credit report again! I called the collector and they have no record that I ever paid the debt. I called and spoke to TouchFon and they told me I would need proof that I paid. I explained that I didn't pay.....they had wiped the debt out because I had never used their services. It gets better....when I finally realized that because of my error I would just have to pay the $37 to resolve it, they now tell me there is interest and I now owe $53. I was steaming mad and the girl on the phone (Isabelle) told me they would accept 35. I told her I would pay $15 to resolve the debt and she told me they could not accept less than the principle. I told her I wouldn't pay it and hung up. I've never sued anyone in my life and don't have any desire to now, however this might be that one time I don't have a choice. I'm not sure I have a case since I didn't keep records. I'm hoping this report will serve someone else that might be checking things out BEFORE getting involved.

Touchfon International provides many services to many companies and individuals. In no way is Touchfon affiliated with these companies. While many of our customers subscribe to our services due to their affiliation with another business we are not notified nor aware of when they have ended their affiliation with said business. Touchfon has implemented billing and cancellation procedures which are designed to protect our clients and our company. A company's success is measured by the retention and satisfaction of its customers. In no circumstance would Touchfon wrongfully treat nor disregard a customer's request to cancel or resolve a billing issue. We have setup certain protocols to ensure that documentation is made anytime a client contacts us in regards to his/her account. While we never doubt or disregard a clients concern over an unresolved issue we ask that proof is supplied in instances where Touchfon's records and our clients do not coincide. Touchfon strives to accommodate and ensure our clients satisfaction, whether they are a current customer or a previous client. Touchfon strives to maintain meticulous records regarding any correspondence with our clients. While we are unable to clarify this situation due to the lack of an account number of full name if the customer wishes to contact us we will review the situation in full. It is never our intent to harm a clients credit or cause them unnecessary frustration. We have certain procedures in place to ensure that outstanding debts are collected. We hope we can help resolve this issue and clarify any information the client requests.
