I called to put money on my credit card in order for my son to place a call from Los Angeles men Central Jail. They charge a fee of 19% of any monies put on the card.when ask if the fee could be charged seperatly they said no.

One or two things are are going on here; they probably don't want to be charged points twice by my credit card company. In addtion the twenty five  dollars is  now 21.00 and then add the three doallar connect fee for each call, and before the first call is placed the $25.00 deposit is now worth $17.25. which they know will run out very quickly.

I would like to know what angency regulates the activity of this type of company?
