Correctional billings services is a company that makes double the amount charged for a collect telephone call. True that they provide a service or those that are in a correctional facility but they pilage those that they call. Their initial charge is $3.95 to connect your call and about $.30 for each additional minute. They have a system that states if using custom features your call will be disconnected.

This announcement will play even when these features are not being used and disconnect the call. This causes the person to place the call again incurring an additional $3.95 charge. When attempting to rectify this procedure I encountered a person identified as John who informed me that in order to make a complaint I must first start an account with this company by providing them with information that I feel is none of their concern. John stated that this was necessary and without giving him this information I could not file a complaint.

I feel that filing a complaint should not require personal information, especially since my local telephone provider bills me directly for these calls.
