Qwest is going out of the wireless business and ending (or as they say "waiving" the contracts) I don't want the contract waived. I had to switch providers away from qwest and it is costing me more to get the same service. They wouldn't let me just "waive" the contract any time I want, so why do they get to just drop out without fullfilling their end of the deal? I called Qwest and the rep hung up on me when I asked for a refund.

I believe they should be forced to fullfill the contracts or make some compensation for early termination.

You have it ALL WRONG! Get your facts strait!

AUTHOR: These Are The Facts!!! - Idaho Falls (U.S.A.)

Qwest is NOT going out of the wireless business. We switched providers from Sprint to Verizon. Our contract with Sprint is ending here in the first part of 2009, which means Sprint will no longer provide service for us to our customers. So, we are giving customers the option to migrate to Verizon, with FREE phones and new plans. Yes, some of the plans are more expensive, but also Verizon has a lot better coverage than any other wireless company out there. Verizon is a very good company, but may not be the right company for everyone. So we are not forcing customers to migrate. You have the option to migrate and we will end your contract with us and Sprint, or you can keep your service you have now through Qwest and Sprint and after the service with Sprint ends and your phone shuts down, then you can go anywhere you want and have service with any company you want. Companies change and the services they provide change. You complain about having to pay more for the same service with Verizon as you were paying with Qwest/Sprint...well, it is a different company and they have different plans. You don't have to go to Verizon, that was your choice. A few years back I was able to get a McDonald's hamburger for $ .29 and now that same hamburger today is $ .89, but I guarantee I am not going to report them for costing me more money for the same item I bought a few years ago.
