Our business in CA got phone slammed by USBI they called the store claiming to be Verizon and when we confirmed Verizon was our long distance carrier they recorded the YES and applied that yes to their phone scam as authorization. Our Verizon phone bills were being given to our accountant and not looked at until today they have been charging us $29.50 per month since April '08 which is a total of $560.50 in charges we paid - when I inquired who they are and what service they provide they told me they are a long distance carrier which was not valid all our long distance changes had/have been going through Verizon - I canceled and they offered me 2 months adjustment $55.92 which is nothing compared to the 560.50 they ripped us off for the last 19 months - When I asked for proof of this approval for service they had me listen to a muffled, scammed recording of one of our employees saying YES to her name confirmation.  I BING this company and there are 100's if not 1,000 of complaints dating back to 04 of the same type of scam activies - Why has the FCC not closed down this SCAM business?????

Slamming" is the illegal practice of changing a consumer's telephone service - local, intralata service, or interlata service (including state to state, in state and international long distance) - without permission. The Commission's slamming liability rules provide a remedy if you've been slammed and take the profit out of slamming for telephone companies. The FCC's Enforcement Bureau will also take action against slammers.Slamming" is the illegal practice of changing a consumer's telephone service - local, intralata service, or interlata service (including state to state, in state and international long distance) - without permission.
