GE Assurance Solutions has been giving me the run around in the repair of my TV. First they can't find me in their system, even though I have already had the tv fixed once. Then they give me a service provider that does not come, I call them 3 times and leave messages and no return phone call. The service provider, according to Sony is not authorized.
I get put on hold for at least a total of 1 1/2 hours, sent to fictional supervisors then get hung up on. The number HHGregg gives out as GE Assurance Solutions turns out to be theirs (8002847344). GE cooperate didn't answer the phone (8667754559) after waiting for 25 min. Calling HHGregg coorperate (3178488710) and getting customer service turns out to be the first number(8002847344).
All I wanted this time was a lamp replacement sent ASAP then to have a service person come to the house and check the tv. I have researched the tv online and there seems to be a problem with the opticalblock on the tv that affects the lamp. They say that they can only do one or the other. I choose the lamp coming in the mail. I need a service person here as well to provide their opinion on whether or not the opticalblock is going out.

This year:
Oct 5 09: called GE could not find me in system, on hold 40 min
Set up repairman to service tv (not authorized by sony)
Oct 8 09: didn’t show up, called didn’t answer didn’t call back
Oct 12 09: called again, didn’t answer, and didn’t call back
Oct 15 09: called again, didn’t answer, and didn’t call back
Oct 15 09: called GE couldn’t send lamp and repair person (either 1 or the other)
on hold for 50min
Hung up on 2 times. Would not get supervisor right away
Complaint filed with the BBB, NC Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division & The Federal Trade Commission.
