11-12-2005. I was just called this morning by one of the telemarketers of Consumer Reward Network. Ethan Hunt was the one whom I spoke first. He told me that they were having a promotion of their new product which is the Mega Movie Club and will send it to me for a free no-risk trial together with $500 shopping spree for any local store and free dvds and popcorn for just $4.95 processing fee. He said for verification he wanted me to give him my bank account number. I told him that his offer sounds really good but I am not comfortable giving my personal inforamtion over the phone. He then started raising his voice in persevereance to get the bank info. He said my bank account number is on my check and every time i issue a check that I give it out anyway. He then gave me his company name and address proving that he is from a big, legitimate company. I asked for his name and he even gave me his name and ID number(AG143). I asked for their website and he said because they were a new company, their website is still under constructive. I was stupid of giving him my acct no. and transfered me to a verification manager (Lauren). She clarified what I will be receiving through mail, the $500 rebate to any shopping center, mega movie tickets to any theatres, and the free dvd and popcorn. While I was talking to her, I went online right away to find out about this company and found the rip-off page. Before the process finished, I told Lauren that I wanted to cancel everything even after giving them my bank info. She started to raise her voice at me and being argumentative about why I didnt want to when its a risk-free no-obligation. I told her that I just had a change of mind and that I do not want the hassle of calling them back to cancel my membership. Because what i had understood from our earlier conversation is that if i did not call within 10 business days then they would automatically take money out of my account and i am automatically a member of their company, which they refuse to agree that what i understood was wrong.
