I will keep this extremely brief. My family ordered 6 tickets through ticketliquidator.com. The "vendor" selling the tickets through Ticket Liquidator and their policies / "guarantees" lied about the status and availability of the tickets for 6 weeks. After alerting TL to this situation on 3 different occassions prior to having received the tickets I was assured that TL would see that I received the tickets and if not there would be reimbursement or other tickets offered that were to be "as good as or better than" my original purchase. My family received the tickets 1 day before we were flying out of state to the event (5 days prior to the actual day of the event itself) and the tickets were all wrong. They were no where near the quality of the original order and they were scattered throughout the venue. When I contacted the "vendor" they refused to acknowledge any wrong doing. When I contacted TL they then told me that they would offer me a reimbursement of their commissions but that I would have to seek reimbursement from the "vendor" directly and that their policies / guarantees do not apply to my situation. When I asked why they would not honor their own policies / "guarantees" I was sent the following response:

1. The difference between a “ticket exchange” and a “merchant” –

The Oxford Dictionary defines a “merchant” as “a retail trader; dealer; storekeeper; vendor” and an “exchange” as a “place where merchants, bankers, etc. transact business; transfer, trade, switch, swap.” This distinction can also be found on the Policies page at http://www.ticketliquidator.com/policies.aspx

General. TicketLiquidator acts as an intermediary between buyers and ticket sellers, herein referred to as "Ticket Sellers," to facilitate the purchase and sale of event tickets and as such, is not directly involved in the actual ticket sale transaction between the buyers and ticket sellers.

TicketLiquidator is a ticket exchange, meaning TicketLiquidator does not own or possess the tickets listed by the sellers. TicketLiquidator facilitates ticket sales and purchases by providing a forum in which these transactions take place.

Your actual ticket seller is the “merchant” of record, as the seller owned and possessed the tickets before sending them to you.

Because of their legal interpretation of their status as a "ticket exchange" they would not support their own policies / "guarantee"... I was asked to sign a release of any further accountability or recourse if I were to accept the refund of their commissionable portion of the transaction which represented less than 15% of the cost of the tickets. This doesn't even account for the expenses for the trip that was centered around the event. Needless to say if you search the internet regarding this company there are plenty of stories like this. In addition, visit the BBB and the state of CT website to take action along with the dozens of others who have done this as well. It is your duty as a consumer to create awareness to scams like this. Do not do business with Ticket Liquidator.

Please Contact TicketLiquidator With More Information

AUTHOR: Colin C. - Vernon (U.S.A.)

I am an employee of TicketLiquidator writing in response to
the above complaint voiced by a disappointed customer. I would be more than happy
to respond to the criticism in the greatest detail possible. Nevertheless, I
confess it is difficult to do so because the customer does not provide any
specific information by which I could examine the order concerned and see exactly what happened.

To begin with, it is first important that I explain what TicketLiquidator is
and what exactly we do. Basically, TicketLiquidator is a nationwide network
through which licensed companies resell tickets to events. As such, we do not
own, price, nor ship the tickets you see listed for sale on our website. All
that responsibility is in the hands of the individual ticket sellers who list
tickets through it. These sellers are the ones who handle the day-to-day
realities of ticket orders while we at TicketLiquidator sit back and take
notes. Our purpose is to facilitate and monitor ticket transactions in the same
way that Ebay facilitates and monitors transactions by its registered
sellers.

From what I gather, the customer is upset because he/she ordered tickets to an
event and that the seller later contacted him/her with the news that they wouldn't be
able to supply the exact tickets the customer ordered. It is at this point that I’m not
sure about the actual problems the customer encountered (something about bad replacement tickets?) and I find no evidence of his/her
order, any such email being sent, or the issue itself ever occurring.

Therefore, I would be very appreciative if the customer who
wrote this post please write back with 1) a last name and an order date, 2) a
last name and an event name, and/or 3) an order ID number (seven digits, starting
with “4”). That way I can look up his or her order and examine it appropriately in order to correct
any mistakes that might have been made in the back-and-forth that the customer
relates.

To the customer: I'd be very appreciative if you'd either respond to this rebuttal with the information
requested or email us at customersupport@ticketliquidator.com.

If an issue does indeed exist, we at TicketLiquidator are
dedicated to doing our part to help get it resolved and, as such, (hopefully) await a response.

Response to TL's rebuttal

AUTHOR: thetruth - Clovis (United States of America)

For the record to all those who read this report. I am a real customer and I greatly encourage you to google "Ticket Liquidator Scam" and see all the issues people have had with this company. Further more, I have emailed TL with my info so they can respond to this report. I have this entire scenario documented and emails I can post on this issue showing that Ticket Liquidator does NOT support their guarantees and policies. There is a good chance you will receive the original tickets you ordered, HOWEVER in the event you do not you must know that Ticket Liquidator will NOT reimburse you for the expense of the event, see to it that you get "as good as or better" tickets in exchange or even provide you with good service when this issue does arise. If anyone would like further detail about this transaction please feel free to contact me directly at   (((Redacted)))

Still Require Customer Contact

AUTHOR: Colin C. - Vernon (U.S.A.)

I am posting again in order to access more information concerning the complaint by "thetruth." The author claims that they emailed us further information about their ticket order. However, I have not been able to find this email and it was never referenced to me if it did come into our system. Therefore, I will ask again if the customer could kindly email us at the address molly@ticketliquidator.com. That way the information concerned will be forward to a customer service manager directly.

I would also point out that anyone can find anything bad about a company by searching "(company name) scam." The word "scam" inherently means that the search results will bring up negative things. Therefore, it's not particularly surprising to find that this is the case when you search "TicketLiquidator scam." You could search "Staples scam" and you'll find nothing but negative comments about Staples.

Instead, it is wise to check official ticket-selling review websites, where you'll find that TicketLiquidator is rated very highly:
http://www.starreviews.com/ticket-liquidator.aspx
http://www.ticketwood.com/brokers/ticketliquidator.php
http://tickets-review.com/review/ticketliquidator

I also think it is common sense that a website like TicketLiquidator could not have been in business for the past 7 years if we were indeed fraudulent.

Ticket Liquidator Under Review from Attorney General

AUTHOR: thetruth - Clovis (United States of America)

It should be noted by the reader that Ticket Liquidator had been contacted over 12 times with all my information and order number when they were posting that they could not find my case.

I followed up with the various authors of this dispute and the final outcome that their legal team deciphered was fair was a refund of the "fees / commission" they earned on the transaction. Despite the fact that their very own policies and guarantees state that if you do not get the tickets you purchased then they would require a refund from the vendor. What you need to know about Ticket Liquidator is that they do not act on behalf of the consumer but if anything they protect their vendors, especially if their vendors are "large volume" clients of Ticket Liquidator. The vendor "Classic Tickets Inc." based out of Chicago Illinois works hand in glove with their bait and switch tactics through Ticket Liquidator.

To anybody out there considering Ticket Liquidator I would highly recommend you stay away from this criminal organization. They have a D+ rating on the BBB with over 56 complaints. That should tell you everything you need to know.

I have hired a legal team to take over these matters because what happened to me and my family is wrong. I took every step imaginable to prevent this from happening, including calling the Ticket Liquidator customer service line and speaking with several extremely rude and poorly trained / educated employees who quoted the very same guarantee they betrayed once the transaction was not honored. I am the owner of 2 small businesses and do not have the time to be keeping up with this fight but we are all in this together and that is why I have recently hired help to take this on. We must root out corrupt companies like Ticket Liquidator. If you purchase tickets and the vendor honors your order then consider yourself lucky, but just know that at any time you could end up in the same situation I am.
