It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who think they know what best for every one else. Like, Marylandmommy!
I had a timeshare and I was drowning in maintenance fees. This company, Groupwise helped me. They took me out of my timeshare and I couldn't be happier. I figured that over the next 5 five years, I'm going to save about $2,400. Yes, I paid their fee. I don't know of any company that does business for free.
I tried to sell my timeshare, and I couldn't. No one wanted it, not even my own family. I read TUG's solution to getting out of a timeshare and it was a joke! "Be patience" I can't afford advise like that. I'm not saying this is an option for everyone. But it did work for me. As for what the company does with them, I don't care! If you did your homework, you would know they don't sell them on ebay, because no one is buying them. I want to caution you about listening to TUG's advise, they are VERY Pro timeshare (they are timeshare salesmen) and have a very bias opinion. Not to mention the fact that a lot of their information is just plain incorrect and wrong. I wasn't scammed, lied to, or scared into any thing. It makes for some dramatic writing, but it just isn't true. I researched the company and yes they own the title company Timeshare Title, I was even told that at the meeting. It was an advantage for me, it made the process much faster.
If you have a timeshare and you want out of it, and you've tried to sell it with no success than you might want to see if this option could work for you. If it isn't, I wish you luck, no one should be stuck in something they don't want. Especially if it's draining money from the family budget. This is what I can share with you from my experience.
1. TUG is nothing but propaganda for timeshares.
2. NEVER pay a listing company (like Timeshares Only) to sell you timeshare, they are rip-offs.
3. Most timeshares have no resell value, who's going to buy it? Would you do it again?
And don't get caught up in other peoples opinions about things they know nothing about, some people never take responsibility for their own decisions and think they are entitled to get something for nothing........like Marylandmommy.

So "keepin it real"!!  That is very funny to try to make me look like you are a customer and I am the idiot.   You should have just signed it "Groupwise" instead of pretending to be a customer from Las Vegas.   It is so funny that you probably are the salesperson from Las Vegas that I met.   It is so obvious that you tried to justify your actions. 

Well I will start by saying BS!!!  You can sell these on eBay and many of the timeshares now are able to be given back.  I hope you are not still telling people that the resorts won't take them back.   Most of them do not even put it on your credit when you default on maintenance fees.   After further research, there is NO SUCH THING AS A DAMAGE CLAIM that you said I would incur.   Timeshares HAVE NEVER filed a damage claim on one single person.  PROVE that they have.  Also, it is quite amazing that on eBay is companies such as yourself and otehr SCAM type companies such as yourself are the ones selling on eBay.   But yet they do not sell according to you.   HOGWASH!!!  

As for TUG, they just tell it like it is.   It is just too bad that you cannot realize that.   You all are a bunch of thieves.   I cannot imagine anyone doing business with you. 

TO THE CONSUMER WHO GETS TAKEN BY THIS COMPANY, CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK, THEY ARE GOING TO ROB YOU OF YOUR MONEY.

I am sure that the "company" who acts as if they are a customer will file another rebuttal.    I look forward to your next post "Keepin it Real".  It just shows that you are the scammers that you are.

I first want to say that I once worked for this company.  I did not leave in a bad way whatsoever and have no ax to grind.  I will just give you straight facts.

Yes, Timeshare Title and Groupwise is owned by Steve Nagy.  Yes, they did not operate Groupwise since the mid 90's as Steve would like to make you think.  He has just had the business name and license since then.  He just started Groupwise when Timeshare Independence went under hurting the title company.  Steve saw a way to go in and take over the business model that Timeshare Independence had to feed his title company in which he beefed up to handle Timeshare Independence's business.  It is quite astonishing to me that Tony Altgilbers who goes under the name Curtis Altgilbers now works for Steve and is out pitching people to get out of their timeshares even though he failed in his business.   I was disappointed that Steve would bring him on knowing that Curtis Altgilbers did scam many people and now he is out there charging them again.  

As for eBay, YES, you can sell these on ebay.   They do sell and that is what all of these companies do with them.   You can also just quit paying the fees and they will not come after you.  This is a pure scare tactic. 

The presentation that these teams go and do around the country is also a bit misleading.   Many of the court cases quoted are from Homeowner's associations from around the country with CONDOS and not timeshares.   There are NO cases from timeshares where they went after and got judgements.   This is purely a scare tactic that these companies use.  

I do feel that there are some that get transferred from Groupwise in the correct way and others may not be.   I also think that you should never pay up front to get rid of timeshares in any manner including this one.   Just sell it or let it go back on your own.   Make groupwise show you in writing where the resorts have filed liens or hurt credit, they simply cannot do this.  

Judge for yourself.

I have been to several of the Groupwise offerings meetings, but I found nothing scandalous about them. Yes they are salesmen and yes they are businessmen- meaning that not only are they going to give you a little pressure, but they're also in the business to make a profit. Keep in mind that this doesn't mean they're scammers! If you can't deal with salesmen, you shouldn't have attended this meeting in the first place. Everyone knows that timeshare salesmen are probably the most high-pressure around. I can see where you're coming from, but you in fact did not do the correct research and you are at the point where you're distorting the facts of the company.

Winnie, first of all, I say BS!!  You are an employee of this company and I am copy and pasting my response from the other ripoff report.   WHY would you go to several meetings with this company.   It is just not so.

First of all Winton, I feel that you are Groupwise answering this as a
consumer rebuttal.  It is amazing to me that on the same day within
minutes of each other, there are two rebuttals on both of the Groupwise
and the Timeshare Title ripoff report and one happens to be Winton and
the other happens to be Winnie!  It sure looks fishy to me and for you
to say that they have been in business since 1995 is one thing but
realize that GROUPWISE has NOT been around as a working company until
2009.  Steve had the groupwise name and corporation but HAS NOT had the
company around.   As for Timeshare Title, they have been around and I
am not disputing that they do not do their job in getting the titles
done.  I am just saying that it is pure BS that they are not connected
as they report in their meetings.   They are OWNED by Steven
Nagy......period.   BOTH! 



As for the truth about being a good business, once again BS!!  People
everyday are shafted by them by being scared into the fact that they
cannot sell timeshares, or even give them back.  Go to ebay.com and
look them up.  They sell all the time.   There is NO NEED to pay anyone
to sell your timeshare and the bogus materials they use in the
presentation is nothing more than scare tactics.   Most ALL resorts
will take them back if you do not pay maintenance fees and NONE of them
will come after you personally.   There is NO SUCH thing as a damage
claim!!  That is purely made up by this industry.   The materials they
use in the presentation is simply not true and many of them are found
to be from HOA from true condo ownership, not timeshares.  



So Winton, there it is.  I am sure that if you are Groupwise making up
a fake name, there will be another rebuttal again soon.   I will
respond to that one as well.   Since I am determined that unsuspecting
people will not get screwed by this outfit.  



If you have done business with them, please call your credit card
company and request a refund in full.   They never win and you will get
all of your money back.
