Roark Vacation Travel Club Aka CRI Aka Branson Hotline Refused to date stamp/sign/initial acknowledging acceptance my letter of rescission presented to them Branson Missouri

We purchased a $99 vacation from Branson Hotline for 3 nights in Branson. We got a $30 gift card to Olive Garden and two show tickets. In exchange we had to attend a 90 minute presentation given by Jane Roden for Roark Vacation Travel Club on Sunday, October 26, 2008. The benefits sounded too good to be true (go figure!). We agreed on the $2500 membership knowing that we had three business days to cancel in writing. Went back to the hotel and did some research and found that there were a LOT of unhappy members and that they have an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB. We were not able to access their website since we didn't have a member number yet....it would come in the mail in a couple of weeks, well after the 3 day window was closed. We decided that we would not risk our money in this way and went back to Roark the next morning with a letter of rescission in hand. Lingell (Customer Service manager) led us upstairs and after asking us for the reasons why we wanted to cancel, promptly refunded the initial deposit of $1000 back onto my credit card. However, he refused to sign or even use a company stamp to acknowledge that the cancellation had been accepted. He was very unprofessional to the point of accusing me of possibly be unscrupulous in wanting his signature. He said that the refund was all the proof that I needed and he refused, angrily, to provide even a stamp. If they are indeed a reputable business, he should've provided a receipt of some sort to show that the cancellation was received. After all, they have our signatures all over legal documents binding us to the agreement with Roark. It seems to me that I was only asking for what was right and fair in this situation. I am still angry and will warn as many as I can to stay away from Branson Hotline, Roark Vacation Travel Club aka Club Resort Intervals (CRI). I will be watching my credit card and credit report closely.
