Werner Enterprises students be careful Omaha Nebraska

I am not defending Werner by any means as I worked for them in 2006, and left for my own personal reasons, but it sounds like your not cut out for trucking man. If you are spending 100$ a week on a truck, then your not meant to be out there...that or just stop going into the truck stops spending your money on crap and video games. I hardly spent any money on the road. Only time I spent money was when I was getting washer fluid and stuff like that but then was reimbursed for it. I spent my money wisely when I was home buying groceries and stocking my truck up. I highly recommend you doing the same thing if you have any ambition of making it in this industry. One thing to invest in, is Peanut Butter. It will help on the days your hungry and don't wanna blow your money on overpriced, shitty food. I worked for them back in '06 and I made 375$ before taxes and deductions *which they tell you about ahead of time* and I had no issues saving my money. You just need to take a step back and not blame werner for why you had no money out there on the road man. If you are making 800$ for driving 2,000 miles I'd love to know the name of that company because that means your making 2.50$ per mile! Get real kid, theres owner operators not even making that kinda money! I was with a company driving making .30cpm and I was driving between 3,000 and 3,500 miles a week and I made roughly between 700-1200$ before and after taxes. My biggest check was 1,000$ take home for extra drops and stuff. So get real, if your here to get rich, then keep wishin!

Regardless, I don't know many "average" drivers, especially new ones to the industry, making even .40cpm. I started at Werner right after training at .27cpm which sucks for the new guys now cuz I guess it has gone down since then, I dunno though, and don't really care to be honest. I never had issues these drivers complain about with miles, or loads, or even getting home to FL. The deal I found that works out here is, you scratch your dispatchers back, and he'll most likely scratch yours. Weekend and night dispatch are a different bunch but in their defense they are dealing with more drivers on their board then the daytime dispatchers are. As opposed to your usual big company fleet manager dealing with 50 trucks on his board, the weekend and nighttime dispatchers have twice and some triple that number. It is crazy so sometimes they aren't trying to ignore or screw you over, but sometimes, it happens due to being so overwhelmed. I would hate to have their job of having 100-150 drivers bitching at me all at the same time over the same shit. Anyways, I am rambling, but the point is, I have read most of the reports of the big companies on this page and it is mostly new drivers right out of training bitching about not making money, and false promises and being broke and yada yada yada. It is the same story with all the big companies they trainees are talking about. It seems to me most are coming into the industry with an unrealistic point of view and the reality check they get out here, rocks them to the core and they don't like it. Just put the time in with who you can that will train you, stick it out for about 6mos to a year and move on man. Otherwise you'll never find a company that will hire a driver that jumps ship all the time. They do look at your work history pretty strictly right now.
